Fate's Cruel if Life's Great

This is great! I haven't been having such a good day, though I should, it's Thanksgiving where I am, but my day has been kinda terrible. Your stories always cheer me up. I really like how honest Frank is in this and how he gets straight to the point. I sorta imagine him to be like that in real life, but he also seems like the kind of person to tell a lie to make someone feel better. Anyway, Gerard is so unwilling to believe that Mikey's to a point where he doesn't need someone to baby him. That's what mothers and fathers are for, and, well, as much as Mikey misses them and wishes they'd come back, he knows that theirs are dead, which means that the babying should have died too. What he needs now though, is someone to talk to and hang out with and joke with. He needs a brother. A friend. He needs to go back to the way they were before their parents died. Before Gerard got into drugs and stuff. Don't you see that Gerard??? I know he doesn't, he thinks too much about what they are now to see what is so obviously apparent. Mikey wants and needs a brother, but he's too worried about what HE thinks Mikey needs to notice he's giving Mikey the wrong thing. I also like that Frank didn't let on to remembering him. I bet Gerard is like "OMG!!! I can't believe he remembers me!!!" And I also like all the little details about what happened when
Gerard and Frank were lab partners. I also like the details about Gerard doing everything in his ability to get Mikey a friend, though the only friend Mikey neede was him. I also like how it only took Frank for Gerard to figure out that Mikey needed him as a brother and a friend. Gerard is just oblivious like that. I know I say this every time, but this is well written, extremely so, and I just can't explain how much I love this story and your writing.Author's response
I'm sorry to hear about your day, I sincerely hope that you are okay. Thank you soooo much for reviewing; they always put a smile on my face! I'm very glad that you liked the kind of looking back/memory thing (Gee finding Mikey a friend and the lab partner things), I wasn't sure if they worked, but I feel more confident about them now that I know you liked them. I'm pleased that you understand what I'm getting at in this; I was worried that it was confusing and badly written, so it's reassuring to know that you both understand and like it! Thank you very, very much for taking the time to read and review; it means a lot! :)

Whew! Well. Here's my teaspoon-sized review to you. Please continue!Author's response
Don't worry, I will; it's like as I write it I find out what's gonna happen to the characters at the same time as the reader, even though I have it planned out. I'm enjoying writing this story and I'm very glad that you're enjoying reading it! :)
