The bombs, the guns, the smoke and flames, the screams, the shouting, the tears that fall, the wounded, the dead and the scarred, the scared, the helpless, the shocked and worried, the paranoia, the loss of good friends, the bravery that is starting to fade, the gas, the orders the ones who fight on and the images that will never be unseen.
"G. WAY MOVE!" The commander shouts and i roll to my left side just missing getting hit by another bomb, it has been 17 days. This is the normal routine, this is it, this is life in the second world war.
"DO YOU WANT TO GET YOURSELF KILLED GERARD?" Mikey said hugging me with tears spilling out of his eyes
"Relax!" I shouted. I ducked as a shell flew past us
"Wheres Frank, Ray and Bob!" Mikey shouted
"In the other trench i think!" I replied. I grabbed a cigarette and smoked it, i was down to one a day.
"Gerard" Mikey said
"Yeah" I reply
"I dont want to do this anymore i want to be home with Wynter and Allie" Mikey cried. He missed them alot, I have not stopped thinking about Evie, I just hope everything is okay at home, we have not received any letters yet and they probably are on their way, I mainly missed Evie's smile, the feel of her against me, her voice and her kisses, they make me just me.
"I want to go home too, but we have to keep fighting, it has only been 2 weeks" I said looking behind me
"I know" Mikey said
"Just imagine your fighting for Wynter and Allie" I smiled
"Okay" He smiled too. While we have been here me and Mikey has grown closer again and everything is all patched up.
"G. WAY" The commander shouted, i stood up and ducked and ran over to him
"Yes sir" I said
"Go to the reserve trench and give this to Iero" He handed me a brown a5 envelope, on the front it said Frank's name
"Yes sir" I said, Frank got a letter, most likely from Appollonia or Fae, maybe even both of them. I had to be careful to not be killed while doing this. I reached the reserve trench and found Ray eating/drinking soup and Bob sleeping, Frank was talking to Ray.
"Frank!" I shouted. Frank shot up and looked around he then looked at me, i waved the envelope and he ran over to me.
"Gerard! what is that?" He asked taking it off me
"I dont know, i think it is a letter form Appollonia or Fae, or both" I said, Frank smiled widely. He sat down and told me to sit beside him, he carefully opened the envelope, inside their was 2 pieces of paper and took out the first page, a red rose petal fell out, Frank lifted it and was confused by it, he looked at me and i shrugged my shoulders. He opened the first letter and we both read it
Dear Frank,
Hey! it's Fae, i hope you get this and are keeping safe, everything is so different without you and the guys, we want you all home safe and sound, Me, Evie, Wynter, Emily and Lexi all had to get jobs, I work at the bakery in town with Lexi, Evie works in the school, Wynter works down at the factory with Emily. Wynter hates it and barely see's Allie. When she isn't home she stay's with Appollonia at Evie's house with the servant girl Victoria. I have a short letter because ... well i kind of can't explain it, Appollonia's letter is here too, she will tell you what exactly has been going on, I can tell you that i barely see Evie anymore, reason's i cant tell you because
1. It's a letter and you probably have not even got it
2. It's a long story
3. Gerard is probably reading this with you. I would rather tell you alone.
So much has changed, so much is different, it isnt the same

I miss you so much it is unreal, I have been so worried that you won't return back to me, And also, Dad found out that i was staying with Evie, he got really angry at me and trailed me literally out of the house, i still have the bruises and the cuts, Evie wasn't home so don't nag at her, He then began to hit me and shout at me, He then decided it was time i left the house for good, so i am now in foster care,
I am writing this in silence at like midnight, because dad also demanded that i have no contact with you anymore, Evie and Fae got into a fight about that and something else that Fae said i wouldn't understand, i sometimes sneak out to see Fae, but i got caught and i have not seen Allie in over a week.
I worry alot, Frank i am scared that i won't get to see you again, i dont like it here, my step mother is so different, she is strict and i dont think she likes me that much! Frank i dont want this war to be happening ! please come back! i cant fully express my feelings on a piece of fucking paper that you might not get! I KNOW YOUR SECRETLY TELLING ME OFF FOR CURSING BUT I DONT CARE it is the only way i can let my fucking god damn feelings out.
