Simone's Notes:

People characterized as stalkers may have a mistaken belief that another person loves them, erotomania, or that they need rescuing. Stalking can sometimes consist of an accumulation of a series of actions which in themselves can be legal, such as calling on the phone, sending gifts, or sending emails. In the United Kingdom, government research demonstrates that, despite media reports and research of vested interests, the Protection from Harassment Act 1997 "is rarely used for stalking as portrayed by the media since only a small minority of cases in the survey involved such behaviour".

It's getting worse.

Hughes can't escape her. Everywhere he looks, that little girl is there. She's warning him. He isn't really sure what it is. She certainly doesn't want him to do what he could plan to do if he found out.

But, what can he do? He couldn't tell his comrades what was going on. No, they would think that he was going crazy. But then again, after everything that's been going on for the past two years, it would be hard to tell exactly. Hughes shook his head.

/No, it's too early to turn for help now/, he thought. But yet, he didn't know how much longer he could hold out.

Six o'clock in the evening. Hughes went home early that evening to check on Gracia. He found her in the living room sitting on the sofa. Her pale, trembling hands held a small box. Her husband tried to stomach his fear.

"How was your day, dear?" he asked. Gracia did not speak. His eyes trailed down to her box.

"What do you have there, sweetheart?" he asked. Gracia let off a low moan. Hughes' own face dropped. He already didn't enjoy where this was going. Hughes stepped forward and loosened the box from his wife's grip. He shut his eyes and quickly removed the lid. When the colonel looked, his face went just as pale as his wife's. The whole box had pictures of Elicia inside. In the schoolyard, at the park, playing with friends, and other normal activities her age. Hughes dropped the box onto the floor.

"No..." he gasped. The man raced down the hall. He came all the way to his daughter's room. Hughes relaxed when he saw Elicia sound asleep in bed. She looked to be having a peaceful dream in fact. Her father took a low breath out. All that worry for nothing, right?

But then, he heard a scream with the phone ringing. Hughes almost jumped out of his skin.

"Gracia?!?" he asked aloud. "Gracia!" Hughes raced down the hall.

"Gracia, what's wrong?" he asked. His wife held the phone in her shaking hand. Her husband slowly took the phone and put it to his ear.

"Hello?" he asked. At first, he heard a death rattling noise on the other line.

"Hello?" Hughes asked again. "Hello? Hello?" The rattling went on for three more minutes and then he heard a low mumble.

"How is your daughter?" a voice asked him. Hughes swallowed hard.

"G-G-Good..." he said.

"No, not Elicia," the voice said. "Your other daughter!" Hughes blinked wildly.

"What other daughter?!?" he asked. "Who are you and how do you know my Elicia?!?"

"You kill my child, I'll kill Elicia!" the voice shouted in his ear. Hughes held the phone away in pain. That threat alone sent his mind into a heavy tailspin.

Suddenly, the front door was unlocked and creaking open. Gracia let out a loud scream as she clung to her husband. Hughes watched on with a racing heart and big eyes.

"I'm home..." a small, twisted voice pushed at through the air.
