So first, I need to apologize. I’ve lost inspiration for this story, but I wanted to give it a proper ending, rather than leave it hanging. Here is your ending, Thank you all for reading and telling me what you think. And I’ll be focusing on my Bikey now.
Mikey, Ray, Frank and I spend our last few weeks of summer helping Gramma Elena remodel the house a bit. New paint, New Furniture, Even a new back door, since the old one has a hole at the bottom. That hole makes it cold in the winter, unless you remember to stuff a towel under it. After getting a job of my own, I saved some money to help Gramma Elena out, to repay her for helping me. Not only has she taken me in when my own mother cast me aside like garbage, but she’s helped me my entire life. After we finished the house, Gramma paid us each $50.00. We combined our money and bought her a cat and some supplies that the cat will need. She named the cat Snowflake, because she’s a deep brown color, but looks like there are snowflakes all over her body. With the rest of the money, we’re taking Gramma Elena to her favorite Resturant. A Chinese place she took us often when we were younger.
Gramma shakes her head, taking a bite “That money was for you boys. Not for me.”
“You misunderstand.” Mikey swallows his eggroll “See, we wanted a cat and we wanted Chinese food.”
Gramma laughs as we all nod in agreement “Thank you boys.”
“You’re welcome.” We all say with our mouths full.
After dinner, Ray asks if he can borrow my car. I nod and hand him the keys.
“Finally gonna ask?” I give him a Cheshire cat grin.
He blushes “A-Ask? A-Ask what?”
I cross my arms “You know very damn well what, Toro.”
He sighs “Yes…I’m gonna ask.”
I smile and hug him “Good luck, buddy. Not that you need luck.” I nod as Mikey walks in our direction.
I run inside and watch a movie in the living room with Frank. Every time I hear a noise I quickly look to the door, and am let down. Frank chuckles.
“Babe? What are you looking for?”
“Michael and Raymond.” I giggle, knowing they’d kill me if they heard.
“Why? They just went-OH! He’s gonna do it?”
I grin and nod as the door opens. I quickly look over to see Ray and Mikey, both with bright faces.
“WELL!?” I jump up.
Mikey giggles “Well?”
I shove him playfully “You very damn well KNOW what!”
“De ja vu…” Ray mumbles.
Mikey giggles and holds out his left hand “I said yes, as if no was a possibility….”
Frank and I go to our newly painted and rearranged bedroom and jump on the bed childishly, giggling. I lose balance and fall, taking him down with me. He grins, having fallen on top of me, and kisses my lips softly. I kiss back and wrap my arms around his neck. He licks his way into my mouth and smirks against my lips as he hears a small moan escape. We kiss for a while longer, and then get to bed. I’m still not ready to go all the way yet. And he doesn’t mind waiting. I couldn’t have asked for a better person to be completely in love with. I snuggle closer and fall asleep.
I yawn lazily as I hear a knock at the door. I look over to Mikey expectantly, who ignores it completely. I sigh and remove myself from Frank’s lap and twist the doorknob. My jaw drops as I see my mother standing in the doorway. I can’t speak as she asks to come in, so I just step aside and motion for her to come inside. Mikey, currently sitting in Ray’s lap, gasps and stands up quickly and hugs her. No questions. No resentment. Just a loving hug. I’m glad to see her hug back, because I was honestly afraid she might not.
“Mikey…Gerard I’m sorry I didn’t warn I was coming but I talked to your grandmother. I’ve been horrible.” She hugs Mikey tighter “If loving Ray, and Frank, makes you two happy then I’m happy. As longs as they’re good to you two.” She opens her arm and motions for me to join the hug. Being honest again, I’m skeptical. But when I look in her eyes I see the sorrow and regret. I see that she’s missed us. So I slowly make my way over. Hours later, it feels, I join the hug. The warm feeling of my mother’s hug comforts me. Makes me realize I’ve missed her. Makes me realize we all say fucked up things and don’t mean it. Makes me realize, everything is going to be okay.
