As we walk inside, I can’t help but smile when I catch a glimpse of the ring. It’s obvious it’s pretty old, but it’s beautiful, simple, and just perfect. Perfect because it’s from Frankie. Perfect because it was his grandmother’s and he loves me enough to hand it to me. Perfect because it resembles so much in my heart. He smiles and kisses me softly before we enter the house. When we do, it’s quite obvious we weren’t expected just yet.
Mikey is sitting in Ray’s lap and the two of them are connected, by their mouths. Must mean Gramma’s down for a nap. I close the door a bit loudly, causing them to quickly pull apart, and Mikey to fall out of his lover’s lap, into the floor. I giggle and walk over to him, extending a hand to help him up. He takes my hand and stands up, blushing furiously. Frank laughs at the pair of them. Ray just blushes, but with a grin. Then I notice Mikey hasn’t let go of my hand yet.
“Uh…Mikes?” I pull my hand back, but he grabs it again.
“What are you-oh….”
He sees the ring.
“Y-You’re..” he looks between Frank and I.
Frank nods and kisses my cheek “We are.”
“Are what?” Ray asks, confused from the cough.
“Engaged.” The three of us say softly in unison.
Ray jumps up and looks at my hand “No way… No way!”
I nod slowly.
He smiles suddenly “Happy for you two.” And sneaks a glance at Mikey.
Mikey smiles and hugs me “That’s great!”
Ray fumbles with something in his jacket pocket, but stays quiet.
Was he gonna… No…
Mikey smiles over at Ray, who fills the gap between them and kisses Mikey’s cheek.
Gramma wakes up a bit later and walks in to find us playing video games.
Ray swears repeatedly as I kick his ass in Mortal Kombat “Stop fucking cheating!”
I smirk “I’m not cheating you just…” My character kills his “SUCK!”
Ray scowls and hands Frank the controller who smiles innocently at me “Ready to get your ass kicked?”
I grin and say in a playful tone “As if you could reach my ass.”
Frank raises an eyebrow and smirks before reaching into my back pocket and squeezing.
I squeak and nearly drop the controller.
He laughs, “You were saying?”
I nudge his arm playfully “Bring it, Iero.”
He grins “Anytime, Way.”
Gramma sits on the couch “So..”
We all jump.
She laughs, “I see you two have returned. Did you have a good time?”
I smile and nod “Very much so.” I smile over at Frank.
He smiles back “It was amazing.”
“What’d you do?”
We start the game as we talk.
“Well first we went to get breakfast..” I punch his character.
“And then we played at the park.” He kicks mine.
Mikey bounces from excitement “AND!”
Ray covers Mikey’s mouth with his own in a quick kiss “It’s their news, love.”
“What news?” Gramma Elena asks.
“Well Frank asked if-” I kill his character and jump up and down in triumph.
Frank scowls and hands Mikey the controller, then looks to Gramma Elena “I asked him to marry me.”
Her eyes widen as a smile forms across her face “And Gerard said?”
“I said hell no.” I toss the remote to Ray and grin, pulling Frank close “Cuz why would I want to be with the person I love for the rest of my life?”
He smiles “Then you’re a fool, Way. Because I recall the answer being a yes.”
I kiss him softly, lovingly and quickly, before pulling back “Of course I said yes.” I hold out my hand to show her the ring.
Mikey and Ray shout at each other as they play.
During dinner I can’t help but notice Ray fumbling with something in his pocket. I decide not to question it, it is Ray, after all. But can’t help but get the feeling he was thinking along the same lines as Frank.
I know it's short but this was really mostly a filler..
