Summary: Riku is injured during a Struggle with Sora.
-Chapter 4-
"It's a real bummer about Riku," Odette told Sora that
evening.
"Yeah," Hayner agreed, kicking up a cloud of dust. "I
mean he's one of the coolest guys I know."
Penne nodded. "Guys like that aren't supposed to end
up sitting in wheelchairs all their lives. I mean the
guy's a true hero. He even gave up the light to keep
the people he loved safe."
A whistling sound came from the corner. "Just making
some hot cocoa," Odette told them. She poured it into
mugs and handed them to everyone.
Sora sipped his cocoa, glancing at the mug he was
holding to see what design it bore.
It was a black mug with the old Encom logo printed on
the side.
"Encom," he read, not really paying much attention,
his mind on Riku. He was still kicking himself for
being too wrapped up in the game to stop his best
friend from getting hurt. Something in the back his
mind, however, was suddenly nagging his brain with
fluffy little bunnies of hope.
"Isn't that the place that Tron came from?" Goofy asked.
Sora dropped the mug in shock as the missing piece was
fitted into the puzzle.
Riku would definitely remain wheelchair bound in the
physical world. But what about the cybernetic realms
where Tron existed? How might he fare within that place?
"You know," he told the others, "I think I know a way we
can help Riku." He turned to Goofy and Donald. "What'd
you say to a trip to Ansem's old lab in Hollow Bastion?
I think it's time for us to drop in on Tron."

"It's good to see you again, Sora," Tron told the young
keyblader as Sora joined him. "How are things in the User
world?"
"I'd like to talk to you about a friend of mine. A User
named Riku. He's been badly hurt. He can no longer walk
and it looks like it's permanent."
"That's too bad," Tron sympathized.
Sora nodded in agreement. "I was hoping we could move
him into here. That maybe if we did..."
"He'd be able to walk again?" Tron supplied. "It could
work. But there's no guarantee."
"Do you think it would hurt Riku if we tested the idea?"
Tron considered the matter. "Probably not."
