"Wake up" Sigh said huddled next to Twisted "what?" Twisted irritably whispered back "we have been found, they are circling the hut, we didn't leave fast enough" She said trying not to cry. "ok, shhhh be very quiet, do you have your gun?" Twisted said grabbing his "yea." She replied by grabbing it out of her belt and waving it. "ok. i was prepared" Twisted said grabbing the backpack he always had handy, he stuffed the book in and some food then went to check the cracks to see what was going on. He reached the last crack and saw a blue eyeliner eye staring back at him. He quickly ducked "you know if i was BLI i could have killed you" A woman's voice rang out as she went to the door "you know if you don't announce yourself i will start shooting" Sigh said terrified but strong "i'm a killjoy, i have been watching over you guys and i thought since you were about ready to leave i would come introduce myself" She said tapping on the door "come in" Twisted said, gun still trained on the door.
The woman came in, she had black hair, average height, massive amounts of eyeliner on that made her look dangerous, she had bright purple lipstick on and a small skirt with fishnets underneath. she wore combat boots almost like Sca.. Sigh's. Her shirt was a black tattered Lynyrd Skynyrd shirt on over a white wife beater. She was majestic to say the least. "you can put that down" She smiled pursing her lips at the kids. "how can we trust you?" Twisted asked "i have been keeping watch on you for eight years, the only reason BLI haven't found you is that i have fought them off every time they have tried. You don't have to trust me but if i wanted to hurt you i would have done it. oh and i brought you something" She said backing out of the hut. She came in with a pizza "you eat first" Twisted told her "ok." She said taking a slice and mowing it down "want a piece?" She asked thrusting the pizza at the twins "ok..." Sigh said taking a slice, slowly Twisted grabbed a piece. He melted into a puddle as soon as the cheese hit his tongue, his eyes rolled to the back of his head and it seemed he was going to die. He smiled and devoured another piece. "this is freaking delicious!" He said all but hugging the strange woman. "i'm happy you like it" She said grabbing another slice herself. Sigh only ate one. "so. what are you guys gonna do now?" She asked in between bites they talked about where they would go, what if BLI got a hold of them and all of the killjoys that they needed to know. "what if you guys stayed with me in my house, only until you knew it was safe to travel.. and your sister learns how to drive better..." The lady said smiling and nudging Sigh "um... Sigh?" Twisted said looking at his twin "i'm ok with it.. wait i don't even know your name" Sigh said to the lady "Sydney is my legal name, but Screaming Shadows is my killjoy name.. just call me Shadows" She said smiling
"ok Shadows... we accept only because we need out of here and you have proper food.. just kidding, i have this weird trust towards you i can't explain, ok, but only until we get ready to run." Twisted said getting up. "ok, gather all of your things and meet me outside, i will help you get it into the cars, my home is not far but i don't feel like carrying it.." Shadows said stepping outside "Twisted... is this smart? we just met her" Sigh said grabbing her bedding "Sigh look, do you see what i see? I see an opportunity, a way of getting real lessons not just out of a book.. and i know you aren't going to believe me but i felt like mom was saying "go".. you know?" Twisted said taking the first load out of the door leaving the astonished sigh looking after him.
