Andy sleepily toyed with Brendon's hair as he laid with him in the bed that they had been moved to. After he had finished feeding from the three bags of blood Ryland had instructed him to ingest, he had returned to the room he shared with the still vampire. Anytime they were apart too long, Andy suffered from a small bit of anxiety, and calmed as soon as he was with his lover again. If he needed to move around, he paced the room so he didn't have to leave Brendon's side.

"I know you're still with me," he spoke in his mind, directing it to Brendon's mind as he had been since he awoke. He didn't want his words that were meant for Brendon to reach the ears of any other. "You just need to allow your body to restart... I know you died, but we need you back Brendon..."

Andy sighed softly as he carefully curled up to Brendon, whose body had finished healing two days prior, and with him not responding to any sensory, reflex or auditory tests, they were once again in the dark. And it frustrated Andy to no end. With a slightly agitated grumble, Andy looked up to study the comatose male's face, willing his eyelids to have any kind of movements, or his eyebrows to furrow from a bad dream, or the struggle to return to them.

What sleepy feeling Andy had felt suddenly vanished as a strange scent was caught by his nose, and he heard two voices approaching the bedroom, and then pass by. He knew the one voice to be Gabe, but he wasn't sure of the other voice; though he was sure he did, given the sudden tightening in the pit of his stomach. He got up from the bed and crept to the door, using his new stealth to open the door and slink out into the hallway, watching the two males walking away from him with their backs to him. He straightened his spine and went rigid to contain his sudden flare of rage when they stopped and turned to face him.

William Beckett's body went rigid as the hairs on the back of his neck bristled at the aggression that rolled off of the hunter turned vampire. His respect for Andy, and knowledge of his fighting tactics and abilities from watching from the sidelines of numerous fights, made the flight side of his fight or flight nature rear its head.

"Easy Andy," Gabe said as he stepped forward, blocking Andy's straight shot at William. "He's here on Valencia's orders, to check on everyone who hasn't woke up yet, to see if anything can be done to help. And to see how the ones who have woken are doing," he explained, making sure to give Andy a pointed look so he got the hint that was directed at himself.

"He's not laying one finger on me, I'm doing just fine," Andy said as he glared over Gabe's shoulder at William, who looked at him with fear. "He's not to be alone with Brendon, got it?" He stated calmly, but with enough venom to get his point across before he looked back to Gabe. "I'll stay in the room so he can do what he needs to, but I don't trust him enough to let him alone with Brendon while he can't protect himself. Changed or not, some things he's going to have to earn my trust on."

"Like it or not Andy, you're going to have to trust me," William calmly replied from behind Gabe. "You can stay in the room with me, I don't mind if you watch... But right now I need to go see Andrew and Tom so I can see what I can do to bring my friend back."

Andy was aware of the new presence by him that made him look to his right as Pete came to stand at his side. He didn't move or relax when Pete touched his arm. "I don't like him being here either," Pete said as he looked at William, "but he's actually here for a good reason."

Andy moved away from Pete after he shook his head in disbelief, before he went back to the room, slipping inside to quietly shut the door. He frowned when he saw that Brendon was nowhere to be seen. Despite his instant reaction to freak out and go into a frenzy until his love was found, he calmed himself and focused on using his newly heightened senses to detect any sign of the lackey William had somehow managed to sneak in before they could get too far with Brendon. A movement behind him made him spin around and launch himself at the figure that gave a yelp of surprise as Andy pinned them to the wall.

"Andy wait!"

The voice that had cried out in alarm reached Andy's ears, snapping him from his rage to freeze him in his spot as the hunter brought his eyes up to look at the alarmed expression on the face of the one who held his heart. "Brendon..."

Andrew Wentz growled fiercely as he stared with blackened eyes at William Beckett, his sharp fangs bared as a warning against coming any closer. He stood rigid beside Tom's sick bed, preventing either Gabe or William from approaching his master.

Gabe took a tentative step towards the younger Wentz and went still when Andrew gave another warning growl and actually took a step forward towards Gabe. "Andrew, William has got to look at Tom to see what he can do to bring him back to us," Gabe explained, holding his hands up in surrender. "Don't you want him back?"

"Of course I want him back!" Andrew exclaimed loudly, shifting his eyes from William to Gabe, staring in surprised anger. "How dare you even think to ask that!? And don't be stupid, he's only here to kill Tom."

"Andrew, to kill Tom would mean taking control of his coven," /William said as he watched the younger, enraged male, shift his eyes back to him. "I no longer want to be a coven leader, you have nothing to worry about. I want to bring my friend back, not just for his coven, but for you as well. I'm the reason he's in that bed and I want to make it right. And with you, I already took away one love from you, I owe you the return of this one."/

"You're not touching him!"

"Andrew he doesn't even need to touch him," Gabe cut in. "He just needs to be closer to him, just sitting on the bed would be fine. I wouldn't bring him in here if I thought he was a harm to anyone, even Tom."

"Why the bed?" Andrew demanded. "If he doesn't need to be touching him, why can't he do whatever it is from across the room?"

"I need to be as close to him as possible," William answered./ "Valencia told me that given his brain was momentarily damaged I might have to try to reach him through his mind, to see if he's even healed to recover to come back to us."/

"That's bullshit, because I remember how good you were at getting into people's minds, even from across a room. I'm not letting you near him, you can do your 'work' from over there."

Gabe gave a heavy sigh and ran his fingers through his hair. "Andrew yo-"

Andrew blanched as Gabe suddenly crumpled to the floor and clutched at his head as a scream of sheer agony erupted from his mouth. He looked to William, who gave him a satisfied smirk. "I tried doing this gently," /William said as he moved closer, ignoring the door that opened behind him to Pete and Patrick running into the room, only to hit the ground as William inflicted his mental pain upon them. "I was just going to go in and kill him myself instead of drawing out this process."/

The screams behind William and Gabe's own screaming mind it hard for Andrew to hear the words in his mind, but he backed away from William, getting closer to his Master.

"Aw, you think you can protect him?" /William questioned, opening his mouth in his silent laugh, though the actual laugh echoed in Andrew's mind. "I've got your brother, his lover, and Gabe Saporta suffering in agony right now, all I have to do is add you to the list. I might be willing to spare you though...Maybe."/

Andrew panicked when he lost his ability to move, as he had on the night he put the bullets in Tom's body as well as his own. He watched as William moved closer to him, and felt the turn of sick in his stomach as William's lips brushed along his neck before he walked past him. He felt the pull of his mind as he turned to the silent command given by William, and watched in defeated horror as William leaned down and flashed a fanged smile at him before he sank his teeth into Tom's neck. The scream of emotional pain that bubbled up inside of him couldn't be freed as he watched William sink his teeth into flesh and sinew before pulling his head back, tearing the jugular in the same motion.

From his spot writhing in agony on the floor from the onslaught of pain that wracked his body, Pete tried to overcome it, to be able to move, but he couldn't do anything. The pain was too much, and no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't break the mental hold that William had on him. The smell of blood assaulted his senses, distracting him partly as he continued his attempts to bring himself from the floor. Why isn't anyone coming!? He thought as he tried to call to the others, even in his mind.

"Calm yourself Peter," purred William's voice in his mind as some of the pain vanished, giving him a small reprieve, "once all is said and done, you and I shall have a good long talk about what my plans are for you."

"I thought you were changed,” Pete growled back in his mind, "what the Hell happened?" Did he make everyone deaf to our screams!? Why hasn't anyone let me know they were coming?

"Valencia was easily fooled when she tried to take away my power,"
William replied as he licked his lips upon rising to stand by the bed where the blood flowed from Tom's neck. "She was easy to destroy when she trusted me enough to not restrain me for our resting time." He smiled as he moved to stand by Andrew, who had his back to Pete since William had yet to turn him around.

"Leave him alone!" Pete cried out loud through his pain, crying out as William flared the pain. "I just got him back!" He mentally sobbed, surrendering to the newer pain.

William smiled at Andrew, who glared at him with pure hatred, and softly stroked his cheek while looking at Pete./ "You always were most crushed by his rejection, weren't you, Peter? You two always had a special brother bond... It would break you to lose him for good, wouldn't it?"/

"Please," he begged as some of the pain let up once more, giving him the mental clarity to think straight, "just leave him alone... I'll be yours, I'll give you what you want if you just leave him alone!"

William's eyes shone with satisfaction as he smiled with sick joy. "Request...denied." He never removed his eyes from Pete's face as he made Andrew turn so that Pete had a side-view of him before he sharply pushed his head back and sank his teeth into the flesh of his throat.

[Author's Note: Not what you expected, was it? There is still more to come, but I have to get ready for work, so you might have to wait a day or two for another update. But there is more to come... Don't kill me just yet, please?]
