Frank descended the stairs and rounded around the wall, his eyes immediately fell to the sight of the vase smashed on the ground, purple roses lay scattered among the puddle of water. He bearly constrained his anger at the sight before him, those flowers had been the last thing Gerard had given him before he left. He looked at the form of the little three year-old staring up at him with wide innocent dear in the headlights eyes. He could tell that wisps of thoughts of panic rushed through the little child’s head as they tried to come up with a believable lie to tell Frank as an excuse to get out of trouble for breaking something oh so special.
“umm it was casper” Frank felt a sense of irate emotion rush through him before taking in a deep breath and looking at the child with a very forced smiled.
“It’s ok no one was hurt just run along now and go back to mum” he cooed restrainedly to the little on, hoping that it didn’t pick up on the frustration that was a fugitive to his sickly sweet tone. He saw those eyes light up before the little girl wrapped her tender little arms around Frank’s leg and hug tightly.
“Thank you” she said and grinned before running off. Frank felt a single tear roll down his cheek as he placed his hand on his swelling stomach, he couldn’t wait to have that little creature in his arms. He could only hope and pray that Gerard would be home in time to be there for him. He was scared of facing it alone, he was scared he would have to face the world alone. He could only wait and see if his mate would return to him. Some time in the future.
Frank wiped his cheek before proceeding further into his almost demolished house. He saw in the lounge that girl from before Lexi, wrangling together a hoard of children and putting them in a carefully, or hazardly constructed plaything, frank couldn’t decide which. Chairs balanced strategically atop each other with sheets strewn everywhere to give it the illusion of being a fort. Heavily fortified tables doubled around it to make it an impenetrable boundary for the young vampires.
“Um Lexi do you really think that, that is safe?” he questioned the other fertile uncertainly. She just turned and stared at him blankly.
“Why wouldn’t it be?” she questioned him with a stunned look on her face, as though his question had been the most abnormal thing to ever pass her ears. Frank just shook his head and turned to leave only to get distracted a moment latter.
“ I am the king! Bow to me you little slaves. I own you bitches!” Jimmy screamed as he popped out of the construction knocking down a few of the tables letting free the evil midgets. They were loose and now running around the house like wild chimpanzees. Frank groaned and leaned against the wall next to him, stress tangling his mind.
“ MUM DON’T FUCKING SWEAR INFRONT OF THE KIDS!” Lexi screamed at the elder fertile causing frank to stare at her oddly at the use of her own vocabulary. “ AND NOW LOOK WHAT YOU DID DO YOU KNOW HOW LONG IT TOOK TO CAPTURE THOSE LITTLE MONSTERS!?” Frank stared at her incredulously before turning and heading to look for said little monsters using this as an excuse to get away from the more than slightly angered fertile in the lounge room.
Peaking around the corner of the door, he could see just at the end of the hall about three of the little vampires, they seemed to be plotting something whilst staring at his blank white wall, crayons lay littered at their feet. Frank found his eyes widening as he realised what they were up to. Rushing forward he grabbed a hold of them and picked them up, flinching slightly from the weight, and the strayn it caused him because of his stomach. He carried the monsters back into the lounge where their mothers sat lounging around lazily. They glanced over him and rolled their eyes before turning back to one another and commencing their conversations.
“Ignore them Frank they are just stuck up bitches who think that they are all that because they are female” Lexi snapped at them as she walked past and took afew of the riggling children from Frank’s arms. Frank raised a brow at the fertile before frowning in confusion.
“But Lexi you are a female” he said tentatively only to get a roll of the eyes in response from the female fertile.
“Yeah well I don’t think any better of myself for it. If I was those stuck up bitches I would feel insulted to be female considering the vast number of fertiles are males, hence forth making them weird” she said cockily and finishing with an over dramatic sticking out of the tongue.
Frank couldn’t help the chuckle that he emitted at what the Lexi was exclaiming, he couldn’t deny that this girl had a way of making him feel better.
“I agree” Jimmy exclaimed slinging his arm around his daughter’s shoulder, “ male fertiles are much more important” he grinned triumphantly as though he had just one a huge prize. Frank snickered at the expression on Jimmy’s daughter’s face. She had an irrate expression as she glanced at her mum who lazed against her shoulder leisurely.
“ But out and go and do your own thing with someone your own age mum” Lexi hissed to her mother, annoyance clear in her eyes. Frank watched as the smile dropped off of Jimmy’s face and his eyes widened into innnocent orbs that began to water at what his daughter said to him.
“But I thought that you would want to spend time with me Lexi, I just wanted to spend time with you” he said afew stray tears leaking down his face as he turned from his daughter, and look of heartache etched across his face.
“no mum don’t go I do love you” Lexi muttered in defeat and Frank smiled watching their exchange. He knew that Gerard not being around would be difficult, but he couldn’t help but feel with these to here, he could find a way to make it through.
