I sat across from my mother at a local cafe, "Ma." I choked out. Her ears perked up, "Yes sweetheart?" She said with a smile. "Kurt and I are getting married." I blurted out nervously. Her smile dissapeared. She stood up gathered her things and left. I watched her get into her car and drive away. I felt tears fall down my face as I hung my head low. "Hey Molly." I heard someone say. I looked up to see Dave lounging comfortably where my mom had been sitting just a short time ago, "Why the tears?" He asked. "I told my mom about the engagement." I sighed. "Oh." He said with a nod. He reached across the table and took my hands in his, "She'll come around. Sh'e'll be at that damn wedding even if I have to tie her to my hip and drag her there." I smiled and he gave my hands a squeeze. "Come on. Let's get you home." He said standing up and helping me out of my chair.
