The Doctor loved the danger. It was easier to be energized rather than exhausted by it. It made him reckless and manic.
They thought he was just brave, and it rubbed off on them.
He'd put Rose someplace safe, and she'd fight her way back to him. Jackie and Mickey stopped an invasion force. And her father gave his life to save the world.
Some of them took one look at him and did whatever he needed them to do, at any cost. Jabe, Gwyneth, Lynda... Jack.
Wish I'd never met you, Doctor. I was better off as a coward.
