I'm Just Being Honest

I’m not asking you to remember,
In fact I’m begging you to forget,
So that I can do this without regret,
I’m sick of being the pretender.

You never once tried to save me,
You might have thought you did,
Thought you felt sorry for that lone kid,
But you were looking too hard to see.

I used to like all your lies,
The way they made me feel,
Now though they make me reel,
Because I can see it’s just a guise.

Please don’t call me pretty things,
Don’t show me any love,
I just want to be free as a dove,
Wrists bound in white dressings.

Don’t you dare blame yourself,
Even if it was all down to you,
Because I chose this to do,
Now just a file on a shelf.

Don’t assume that I’m sorry,
That couldn’t be more of a lie,
I just don’t even want to try,
I don’t deserve your worry.

Even if you read this and cry,
Try to fix all the wrongs you made,
Know that my blood’s been paid,
Because I’m only a girl with a dream;
A dream to fly.

A/N: Just a little something I thought up before school, definitely not my best. Please let me know what you think/how to improve. Thanks for reading! :D
