Rufus opened up his briefcase and raised an eyebrow at the contents before leaning over and picking up the phone, hitting the first number on speed dial.
"Matono speaking, how-"
"Tseng, my briefcase."
"... you too, hmm?"
Rufus looked down at the handful of brightly wrapped candies and a crudely drawn picture of a blond man standing along side a brunet man, a tiny scrap of a girl wrapping her arms around both their legs. To my favouritest Papa ever, the note started.
"I'm the favourite this week."
"Really, Rufus? Because my note says quite clearly that I am the favourite."
"Oh no no, I quite disagree with you there, Tseng." Rufus could hear the slight smile on the other end of the line when Tseng spoke next;
"Care to come show me how strongly you disagree?"
"... perhaps," Rufus said. Tseng chuckled, a raw throaty noise, and Rufus felt his muscles tense.
"I'll see you in ten minutes then."
"Perhaps you will."
"Rufus?"
"Hmm?"
"Bring the candy."
