Gerard’s POV
I saw Jamia pull up outside in her 4x4 and Frank sitting in the passenger seat. I lifted Lily to the front door and Lindsey followed with her sister. They squealed with excitement to see their beloved father again. They ran up to him joyfully full of hugs and giggles.
“Hey, my babies!” he smiled, scooping his precious daughters into his loving arms and walking towards me, my wife and daughter. Even little Bandit was giggling to see her friends so happy.
“Hey, Frankie” I said, placing a discreet kiss on his perfect jaw line. It was so good to smell his scent again – the smell of Diesel covering up the smell of cigarettes. Perfection.
We all plonked ourselves down onto the sofas in the front room, just to chill after a hectic 24 hours. That’s when Lindsey started talking to Frank and Jamia called me aside.
“Gerard. Be honest with me. Did you or did you not have a foursome with Toyah and Aimee?"
“Jamia, you genius!”
“What?” Jamia looked at me with a manner of complete bafflement.
“That’s why Frank drugged himself! We did it and he regretted it the next day when he realised he’d put his marriage in jeopardy. He felt really crappy and phoned me in such a state that he didn’t want you to see. He didn’t want to fess up, but I said he had no choice but then he got high! You’re a genius, Jamia!”
“He told me earlier, but I forgave him. I didn’t wanna take it out on him, especially when I didn’t think he was being serious!” Jamia was still perplexed.
“Yeah, but he’ll be fine now, I’m sure of it. It’s out of his system now. That’s why I love our close family – nothing can break us up.”
“I agree. Thanks Gee.”
And as we walked towards our friends I heard Frank say to Lindsey,
“As nice as it all was, I really hope I’m not near another hospital any time soon.”
