The paper crumpled in his hands, the ash decaying onto the once pure snow, tarnishing it with it’s fragmented black. Blood welled at the bottom of his lids in response to the news that was one encrypted atop the paper. The blood droplets landed on the snow alongside the black. Spinning on his head his black hair danced around his sadly masking his face from the rest of the Doms as he made his way through the crowd. As he moved forward he found himself picking up speed before he was sprinting, he would get there before the prediction came true.

” the house of Gerard Arthur Way and Frank Anthony Iero-way will be targeted in the bombing this evening” the words rang around his head as he was blind to the world dissolving past him, everything a mere blur, his mind was set on one place and nothing would stop him until he got there and saved the one he sold his soul to.

The snow crunched under his feet as the raced atop the surface followed by the many footsteps of the Doms trailing behind him. He knew that that there was no time to hesitate, the ordered date of execution was within the hour. His heart pounded in his chest as he pushed his feet to go faster than he had ever travelled before, the Doms behind him struggling to even keep him within their sight. He danced around the bodies and leapt over the soldiers that would try and stall him, to prevent him from saving his family from their demise.

Gun shots rang around him and he saw the bullets fly past his body, ignoring the pain as the silver lodged into his shoulder, the blood splaying out behind him continuing to paint the snow in this gruesome scene. He ignored the screams and silencing of hearts as he tore through the mass amount of humans standing in his way. He knew that if he stopped even for a moment he would be too late.

Hisses and growls rang out around him as the other Doms fought a pathway for him. Creating a corridor of bodies for him to run through, they were fighting for loved ones too, but their loved ones weren’t under threat. But he knew that they still understood his pain, they understood his desperation to get to the place he called home, the place his loved one and his daughter were lingering innocently unaware of the impending danger on their lives.

They weren’t aware that they were a target for execution.

A hook snared into his pale flesh ripping at it and dragging him down into the snow as he snarled and struggle against it. His blackened glare aimed up at the human above him and the barrel on the gun pressed to his forehead. Just as the safety clicked off the world moved into slow motion, int hat moment gerard ripped the chunk from his leg and leapt forward the bullet piercing his stomach as he grabbed the human by the throat and brought his eyes to face him as he coughed up blood onto the young boy.

“You will not stand in my way you filth” he hissed and ripped the throat from the boy, the blood spraying across his porcelain skin as he dropped the body and continued to run.
He continued to run to the house, the house he could see of in the distance, he ignored the fighting around him, he ignored the gaping hole in his lead, he ignored the severely bleeding wound in his abdomen, he ignored the heavy blood trail he left in his wake. He just continued to run. He ignored it all to make it to that home and get his loved ones out of there and to safety. His blinked away the black spots from his vision as he continued to run. The pain was excruciating but it pulsed just barely at the back of his mind as he pushed on. His pace had slowed slightly as he continued onwards. Each step growing steadily harder than the last.

As he drew over the hill and the house became more apparent, standing out under the poisonous sun, he smiled to himself seeing it safe on the horizon. His smile grew as he saw the man he loved holding their small bundle of joy standing just outside of the house. He breathed a sigh of relief as he limped towards the house. Drawing closer and closer by every step he took.

From loss of blood his heart was pounding in his ears, he didn’t hear the approaching jet, he didn’t hear the engines, and he didn’t hear the bombs discharge. But he did hear the whistle of the wind as they descended. His eyes widened as tears filled them.

“NO” he screamed as he ran forward, ignoring the pain and running as fast as he could, he couldn’t loose them. As he drew closer to the house his fertile turned to him and smiled at him.

But soon he was devoured in a blaze of fire as the bombs hit the house. Screams ruptured from the dying building, wails bled out of the cracked wood. Skin splattered the blackened walls. Limbs painted the front lawn like horror induced Christmas decorations. The aftershock smashed Gerard to the ground knocking the air out of him. In the split second it took to scream Frank’s name. Him and their daughter were gone, blown from the face of the earth, victims of this ridiculous and taxing war.

Gerard blinded by his tears crawled to the form on the front lawn; half of the body gone but evidence of the outline and the small bundle it had once held so cherishingly remained. Gerard let slew vicious amounts of tears they rained red down onto the bodies he now held to his chest. Rocking back and forth he tilted his head back to the sky and screamed. The sound so agonised that the Doms who had just arrived on the morbid scene cringed. He sobbed helplessly on the body of his love and child his last strength taken at such a cruel time in a cruel war.

This was it, the end of his rope.

He was giving up.
