May 15th 2009: New Jersey
'Jen, you can't just up and leave with my child, I'm his father I should be a part of his life!' I pleaded.
'No Frank you're just a sperm donor, he doesn't need you besides after a few weeks in Miami he'll have forgotten all about you. If I was in your shoes I wouldn't even bother sending a Christmas card, come December you'll just be a hazy memory.' Jen shot back at me, as she casually picked at the boxes placed around her front room.
With bleach blonde hair, blue eyes and an arrogant air about herself, she was the total opposite to what I looked for in a person. Looking back on the time we met her I couldn't even remember what I saw in her. I guess that's what alcohol does to you, but she wasn't all bad after all she did give me my beautiful son. Oh wait scratch that she was all bad, she's now decided to move across the country with him! There was only one thing for it, I sighed and ran a hand through my hair, which really needed cutting man it was getting long.
'Okay fine you can take him,' I exclaimed flinging my arms into the air, Jen raised a perfectly groomed eyebrow at me in doubt, 'but on one condition, I get one last night with him. I'll bring him back in morning.'
'I suppose that's fair,' she replied, fair the bitch didn't know the meaning of fair after all she's the one leaving with MY CHILD! 'but you have to have him back by 9AM tomorrow, I don't want to set off late just because you can't get your ass up in a morning.' she added.
'Okay, I'll go get him, see ya tomorrow.' I grinned.

'For the last time Bob, I'm on my way...yes I know your the CEO of the label, but I'm the owner!...I'm literally just round the corner...I understand that this band could be the next big thing but I do also own other companies that require my attention...no I will not just leave it to Mikey!...because he's stressed enough as it is...look you're making me take longer by keeping me on the phone, okay just calm down...I'll be five minutes.'
As much as my blonde haired childhood friend was a hard worker and I could rely on him to run the music side of my company, boy was he bossy. He'd told me about this new band All Time Low he'd seen recently at a gig and wanted to sign them up to 'Revenge Records' they weren't from New Jersey but according to Bob they seemed quite happy to build a base here and in New York and that fit just right in with the label, the only thing I had to do was voice my opinion on them and set the wheels in motion for a contract.
I sighed and slipped my phone back into my leather jacket pocket and pulled up the collar of my shirt a little more and started quickening my pace suddenly realising just how late I was, before slipping my hand into my back pocket and producing a packet of cigarettes. I didn't get chance to light one up however because suddenly...uuooooffffftttt!

I padded up the stairs and into Mason's room, where he sat colouring in a picture of Iron Man, I couldn't help but smile as he poked his tongue out of the corner of his mouth in complete concentration. I gazed around his room and suddenly felt sorry for him, his room at my place was covered in posters and drawings and an old guitar of mine even hung on one of the walls which were pasted in comic book themed wallpaper. Here, it was bare. I know they were moving tomorrow but even the walls were plain white, it only confirmed to me that I had to do what I was planning.
'Mase...' I half whispered, 'I know you're supposed to be leaving tomorrow but how would you like to stay here with Daddy?' I questioned hesitantly, making sure Jen was still downstairs. Mason's face lit up.
'Really Daddy? Yeah I don't wanna go with Mommy I wanna stay with you.'
'Okay well you have to be quick and pack all your things to want to bring, and this is our secret Mase because it's really naughty that Daddy's doing this.' I sighed.
With that Mason hopped of his bed seemingly ignoring the last part of my sentence and began packing things madly into his Hulk backpack whilst I pulled some things into his weekend holdall. When he was finished I swept him up into my arms and headed back down the stairs shouting a quick goodbye to Jen.

Oh yeah I actually pulled it off, I grinned as I walked quickly down the street towards the bus stop, I knew what I was doing was probably wrong and possibly illegal, but I didn't care I needed my boy with me, he was the only thing I needed in this world. And I wasn't gonna let anything come in-between us both. Out of nowhere I seemed to walk into a wall, except the wall was kinda softer than I'd expect and let out a groan. Then it dawned on me.
Ah shit I really have to start looking where I'm going. First that dude in Starbucks and then...I looked up...the same bloke, wait the same bloke?
'Oh god I'm so sorry.' I stuttered wide-eyed still trying to wrap my mind around the fact that I bumped into the same guy, quite literally, just days apart.
'No it's...' he began looking up, 'f-fine.' He stuttered looking just as shocked as me.
'Wow talk about strange, and they say lightening never strikes twice in the same place, or in this case person on the same person.' I joked, trying to make this situation a little less awkward.
Thankfully he chuckled 'Ah yeah you're the Starbucks guy, sorry I'm kinda in a hurry,' he interrupted himself shaking his head, 'I'll see you around.' He concluded before hurrying off down the road.
I couldn't help but ponder his choice of words I mean, it's not everyday you bump into the same stranger twice, is it? I was interrupted from my own thoughts by Mason nuzzling into my shoulder. I secured him more onto my hip before again heading to the bus stop. And despite having more pressing issues on my mind such as me kidnapping my own son! I couldn't help but keep letting my thoughts return to that stranger with bright red hair.

They say lightening never strikes twice, well sometimes rules are broken. And everyone knows that once one rule is broken, no doubt more will follow in it's destructive wake. It doesn't matter who gets hurt or caught in the crossfire, just as long as the universe gets it's way and forces two beings together. The cogs begin to turn, the wheels are set in motion and once these processes begin...
The train has to leave the station...
