I haven't read all the way through the chapter so this question may be answered soon enough but I figured I might as well stop and ask. Is there a reason as to why performing earns points for items? What do the demons get out of her performance?Author's response
If the customers don't have any money instead of going without or stealing, they could perform. If the customer's performace was good, the demon market place's business would increase and bring in people or demons that had money.
