A new beginning...
0 reviewsGerard and Mikey have just moved into Ashton, and begin a new school

The sunlight was seeping through the curtains, like blood from a fresh cut. It seemed to shine directly into my eyes so it wasn't long before I found the energy to roll over and stuff my face into my pillow.
It was only our first week living here and already, me and Mikey were to be starting school. To be honest, the place was shit! Only two bedrooms so I actually had to SHARE with my little brother, and it wasn't the largest room either. Well, it was all mum could afford and we had to get out of that house quickly...
Suddenly my entire body is freezing. It took me a moment to realise that the blanket had been, quite violently, ripped from my bed and tossed onto the floor.
"MIKEY YOU LITTLE SHIT!" I groaned, not even lifting my head to see my brother.
"Gee, for fuck's sake it's already 8! If you don't get up, I'll have to wait for you and we'll both be late!"
He then proceeded to shove me off the bed, and I landed on the floor with a thud. I am not exactly the most friendly person in the mornings but I was so tired that I simply let out a small wimper, struggling to my feet. Mikey shoved a towel in my arms and siezed my wrist, dragging me towards the bathroom and pushing me in. The room was unbearably white! Sunlight poured in through the clouded window, reflecting off each individual tile into my eyes. I was practically blinded, yet managed to strip down and step into the shower. Thank goodness we would only be here for a few months - the water was FREEZING! Apparently, we have no centeral heating; I don't know how long I am going to cope...
After my shower, I stumbled down the hall, back towards me and Mikey's room. It's a lot darker so my eyes eventually stopped hurting and I managed to get changed. Unlike our previous school, this place has a uniform! And a pretty damn ugly one if you ask me... We have some green and yellow blazor, to go with our black trousers, white shirt and green and yellow striped tie. Not to mention, I have no fucking clue how to do a tie!
There may be a 'strictly no make-up' policy, yet that doesn't stop me slapping on a thick layer of black eye-liner before wondering downstairs.
My mother looked me up and down and simply shook her head.
"Oh hell no! Look at the state of you!"
I simply shrugged, grinned and took the piece of toast she was holding out for me.
"Well I guess there's no time to sort you out now..." she mumbled, pulling on a light over coat and reaching for the keys inside her pocket.
"MIKEY!" her voice echoed through the empty house "come on sweety, we're leaving!"
Mikey plodded out from the kitchen and down the corridor, hanging his head low. He didn't look any happier than I did to be starting at this new place - this would be interesting...

Mum's car pulled into the car park, which was already nearly full. We were only 5 minutes late, so not too bad! Mum quickly fixed my tie while Mikey stepped neatly out of the car, slamming the door behind him. I quickly followed him out, grinning back at my mother.
"Now you boys have a good day - try and stay out of trouble!"
I couldn't help but giggle as she drove off.
"yeah..." I mumbled as we both turned around and headed towards the building.

I heard a short gasp come from my brother's direction and my jaw couldn't help but drop to my feet. This place didn't look like a school - it was more luck a fucking mansion! I could tell, almost instantly, that we were not going to fit in here. At all.
We eventually arrived at the reception, still slightly in awe.
"Excuse me?" a woman's voice cut through my thoughts and I instantly snapped to attention.
"Hello there boys, I am assuming you are Gerard and Mikey Way?"
We both nodded, wide eyed and shocked. The woman giggled and smiled sweetly. She was a young lady, probably in her late 20's, long dark hair and large grey-blue eyes. She was a rather pretty woman and I think Mikey picked up on that, as he instantly relaxed and beamed at her.
"Well I am Miss Simmons, and I am very pleased to welcome you here to Ashton High - I am sure you will have a wonderful time here-"
the woman was clearly scripted.
"Now here are your new timetables..." she handed me and Mikey each a piece of paper
"and if you get lost please ask another student or member of our staff for assistance!" She grinned and then returned to the computer on her desk. Mikey just stood staring while I pushed past him, scanning my sheet.
Period 1, Monday: Mathematics
Room 7
Mrs J Miller
I found a corridor which began, luckily, at room 1 - so I soon found the way. Holding my breath, I knocked firmly on the door and I could hear to class inside come to a silence.
"Come in!" a voice croaked from within the room. Through the window I could see an old woman with short; white hair and glasses sitting at the bottom of her nose. An oldie - just my luck...
"And may I ask who you are, young man"
It was at that point when I noticed that I'd forgotten to breathe this whole time. I felt all eyes on me and began to blush slightly.
"G-Gerar-d" I choked out, before clearing my throat and gasping for air. Some people sniggered but were hushed by Mrs Miller at the front of the classroom.
"Gerard Way...I'm the new kid..." I looked down at my feet, shuffling awkwardly as the woman examined me.
"Well you better take a seat Gerard, maybe next to Mr Iero at the back?"
She pointed to a boy, sitting right at the back of the classroom, away from all the others. He looked a little like me, a misfit, someone who really didn't belong. But there was some warmth in his eyes, something that just made my heart melt. He smiled gently, fiddling with his lip ring as I sat down.
"hey..." he whispered "I'm Frank, welcome to hell..."
he giggled as he sat back in his chair, chewing on the end of his pencil. I looked at the boy, maybe for a little too long... He was fucking gorgeous! Maybe math class wouldn't be so bad after all...
