“Hey guys,” Frank said as he sat down at the lunch table. “This is Gerard,” he gestured to his mate. “Gerard, this Ray and Bob."
Gerard examined them while he sat down.
Ray had thick, curly hair and was wearing an Iron Maiden shirt, blue jeans, and old converse. Bob's hair was blonde and long in the front. He was wearing an Aerosmith shirt, black skinnies, and new converse that he'd been forced to buy because his other ones completely fell apart.
Gerard inhaled deeply and smirked. Both were dominant vampires, meaning they would most likely be protective of Frank. "Gerard," Frank smiled, "is my mate.
Gerard heard Bob growl low in his chest. Even if a dominant didn't feel an attraction to a fertile, the vampire would still feel and attachment, and since Frank had known Bob since 3rd grade, the attachment was even stronger. Ray, on the other hand, was perfectly fine, as he already met his mate.
"Calm down, Bob," Frank chuckled. "You already like someone." The blonde headed man just grunted.
"So," Ray said, "The Misfits?" he eyed Gerard's shirt.
The other dominant grinned. "Yeah. They're my favorites. And Iron Maiden too," Gerard nodded at Ray's top.
Gerard glanced over at Frank and grinned, letting him that he liked Ray. Frank smiled back. The two mates already knew a lot about each other, as they'd passed notes back and forth in their morning classes. They liked the same music, clothing, video games, TV shows, and movies. They were pleasantly surprised, but then again, most mates were made perfect for each other.
"Bob likes a lot of the same music too," Ray pointed out. He didn't want Bob to seem like some grumpy, over-protective ass. "Don't you, Bobbert?"
"I told you to stop calling me that," he grumbled. Ray gave him a Be-Nice look and Bob's face instantly softened. "Sorry. Yeah, we all like pretty much the same stuff."
Gerard smiled back. "Nice."
"So do we have any classes with you?" Ray asked curiously.
"I don't know. I have all the same classes as Frankie, though," he glanced over at his mate and noticed the boy smile again at the nick name.
"Cool," Ray commented. "We have Gym next and Music after that. Do you play anything?"
"Um... I played saxophone in 6th and 7th grade. I play a little guitar but I'm not that good. My brother's told me I'm a good singer," Gerard offered.
"You have a brother?" Frank asked, surprised.
"Yeah, but I haven't seen him in over a decade," Gerard answered. "He ran off after his best friend was killed by Hannah." Hannah was like the queen of vampires along with her sister Clara. They aren't necessarily royalty, but they're the oldest known vampires out there, and apparently that makes them better than everyone else. They stir so much shit up though, it's amazing no one's tried to rebel and kill them yet.
"Oh. Sorry," Frank said. He could tell there was something Gerard wasn't telling them, but decided not to push it right then.
Gerard only smiled at him sadly and placed his hand on Frank's knee.
"So you sing?" Ray asked.
Gerard nodded. "In the shower."
They all chuckled, including Bob. "Will you sing for us?" Ray asked, excitedly.
"Um, I'd rather not. My brother's the only person who's ever heard me sing, so I'm not used to doing it in front of people.
Frank found it weird how Gerard kept referring to his sibling as 'my brother' but never actually said his name. He waved it off though. He
would ask later. He pushed his bottom lip out and stared at his mate. "Please Gerard," he looked at him with big eyes. "Just one song?"
Gerard blinked and almost gave in right then because of Frankie's pout. He wanted to lean down and suck that perfect, full lip into his mouth and kiss Frank like crazy, but he knew that Ray and Bob -- along with the other kids in the cafeteria -- wouldn't appreciate that. "Maybe later," he promised at the pouting fertile.
Frank huffed but gave up anyways. "Fine."
"Wow," Bob commented. "I don't think I've ever actually seen anybody refuse Frank's puppy-dog face."
"Same," Ray agreed. "That was impressive."
Frank only rolled his eyes at them. "Whatever." He then turned his attention back to Gerard. "So Gee," he asked. "I was wondering if you wanted to hang out after school?"
"Sure," he said. Gerard then sat back and watched Ray, Bob, and Frank bicker like siblings for the rest of lunch period.

At the end of the day, Frank and Gerard found themselves walking along the side walk, holding hands loosely.
"Do you live with any other vampires?" Gerard asked out of curiosity.
"Um, no actually. I live with my with a couple of humans," Frank answered. He saw the taller teenager raise his eyebrows. "They're my adoptive parents. Even though I can't stand humans, I'd much rather live with them than a couple of other vampires. I know I could move in with Bob or even Ray and his mate, but I'm happy where I am for now."
"Wow. I've never heard of a vampire choosing to live with humans."
"Yeah. I've lived with other vampires a few times. I never really liked it though because there's usually a lot of fighting over territory and mates and other shit. What about you? Where do you live?"
"I just bought some trailer a few miles from the school. I live alone." He looked over at Frank who was looking down as they walked. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing. Just thinking." Gerard nodded. "So," Frank spoke. "Will you sing for me when we get home?" He didn't really know why he wanted to hear Gerard's voice so bad, but he did.
The dominant vampire chuckled. "Maybe." The shorter smiled, pleased.
They walked in silence the rest of the way to Frankie's house, their intertwined fingers going numb. Gerard released his mate's hand so the latter could dig through his pockets to find his keys. He'd forgotten which one he'd put them in. He was just about to check his front right one which only contained coins when Gerard noticed a bulge in the left back pocket, so he pressed himself up against Frank and reached into the denim pocket. He smirked when Frankie's breath caught. He brought the keys out slowly, making sure his fingertips brushed against his backside.
"Found them," he said huskily, dangling them in Frank's face. The fertile blushed and pluckd them out of Gerard's fingers.
"Thanks," he muttered, shoving it in the slot and twisting it clumsily.
After watching him try to unlock the door for a moment, he laughed at the distracted boy and snatched the keys back. "Here, let me help you," he said as he heard the click of the lock and opened the door. "See, it wasn't that hard, was it?"
Frank only sneered at him and walked in the house, going into the living room. He could hear Gerard following closely behind him. Frank dropped his book bag on the floor and the dominant vampire did the same. "So what do you wanna do?" the shorter teenager asked as he sat down on the couch.
Gerard sat down next to him -- rather closely -- and smirked. "I have a few ideas in mind," he said as he placed his lips at the base of Frank's neck.
Frank gulped nervously. He'd never done anything like this before. "Oh?" he asked, his voice shaking.
"Mmm..." Gerard trailed his mouth up a bit higher. He could tell his mate was afraid -- of course he could, he was a vampire and could smell fear -- so he decided to turn it down a notch. He rested his forehead against Frank's. "Have you ever been kissed before, Frankie?"
"N-No."
Gerard raised his eyebrows. Frank was so beautiful, his hazel eyes shining with innocence and his skin flawless and pale. And yet he'd never been with anyone?
Frank could see the surprise and disbelief on Gerard's face. "Well... people have tried, but I pushed them away."
"Why?" Gerard asked his hand making it's way to Frank's thigh.
"I-I was waiting for the right-t one," he stuttered, distracted by the feel of Gerard's fingers moving up his leg, higher and higher.
"And have you found him yet?" Gerard asked, smiling.
"I think so," Frank grinned back, his nervousness disappearing in Gee's reassuring smile.
"Good," Gerard said as he leaned in the rest of the way and gently pressed his lips to Frank's.
Gerard examined them while he sat down.
