Today I’m the target,
And your weapons are words,
You shoot them at me,
Like bullets to birds
No one cares,
Just shoot me down,
I’ll crouch and die,
All on my own
I feel unneeded,
But I will hide it,
For in my dreams,
A fire will be lit
Your houses will crumble,
And possessions will burn,
And then, finally,
It will be my turn
I won’t help you,
You have never needed me,
So why now?
You’ll just have to let it be
So take me away,
For this heinous crime,
I won’t struggle free,
It was worth the time
I’ll count down the days,
To my release,
Patiently waiting,
Sitting in peace
And your weapons are words,
You shoot them at me,
Like bullets to birds
No one cares,
Just shoot me down,
I’ll crouch and die,
All on my own
I feel unneeded,
But I will hide it,
For in my dreams,
A fire will be lit
Your houses will crumble,
And possessions will burn,
And then, finally,
It will be my turn
I won’t help you,
You have never needed me,
So why now?
You’ll just have to let it be
So take me away,
For this heinous crime,
I won’t struggle free,
It was worth the time
I’ll count down the days,
To my release,
Patiently waiting,
Sitting in peace
