On The Streets

Life on the streets is harder than it seems. Not really about the character and the movie itself but it is an observaation of the world they lived in.

This is life.
This is how we're supposed to do
things.
This is our method of survival.
It seems that this
is our survival of the fastest.
Because the slowest one gets hit.
And you don't want that.
And we see the little kids playing soldier
ignoring the war
going on in our backyards.
Our older brothers joining the local mafia,
little sister getting raped
behind our backs.
Our fathers and mothers
succumbed to the disease thaat is poverty.
So we comb the streets
searching for even the smallest bits of cash
to feed our siblings.
Real life vampires
suck the life from our veins
and the money from our tins.
We feel so helpless
and there seems to be nothing we can do.
If we try to fight,
we're the resistance,
but if we turn tail and run,
they call us traitors.
We are trapped either way.
And so,
we suffer for the little children
whose parents
we replace.
Because our lives
are essentially
worthlesss.
