I am miles upon miles of pale, scrawny legs
And I think that they are ungainly and ungraceful
You tell me that you love how I'm always the tallest person in the room
I am the freckles that adorn my nose
And I hate the way they look against my pale skin
You tell me that they give me character
I am insecurity, deflected by humor and wit
And I often wonder if I feel the way I do because I'm really, truly ugly
You pull me close and whisper that I'm beautiful
And I think that they are ungainly and ungraceful
You tell me that you love how I'm always the tallest person in the room
I am the freckles that adorn my nose
And I hate the way they look against my pale skin
You tell me that they give me character
I am insecurity, deflected by humor and wit
And I often wonder if I feel the way I do because I'm really, truly ugly
You pull me close and whisper that I'm beautiful
