It’s not a Dream.
Prologue
Ever since Mai’s mother died she has always had someone looking over her to protect her if any harm comes to her, her father had asked their neighbour’s son who was one year older than her to watch over her but never get too close just in case of one day her ever needing him to protect her when anything during the days when he wasn’t at home, to be there to protect her. The son accepted this task, but for eleven years his duty was not needed until that day when everything changed.
Chapter 1: The dream becomes reality
Mai was only just fifteen when she joined high school; she joined it knowing no one else but decided that it would be good for her after what happened at her old school. On her way out of her home she saw the son of her next door neighbour walk out in in the same direction that she was going in. She had seen him before leaving his house but that was when she was in middle school, she had gone in the other direction before that. His dark hair fell just over his eyes so that you could still see his light green eyes as they passed over her as she walk out of her house, but they just passed over they did not gaze towards her, for all he knew she was just the girl who lived next door. They had had no meetings she had never even talked to him all she knew was his name and that he was her first love. His name was Robbie, he was a year older than her, tall and handsome, but she had never seen him with a girl, maybe there was someone he already cared about but not told them yet. As she was walking, she thought, she’s probably is very beautiful, tall will look like a modal. As she arrived at school she saw Robbie walk off to a group of guys, she sighed and walked over to the boards which showed which class all the freshmen were in, as she looked for her name she felt a tap on her shoulder,
‘Hey I’m Alex from class D is there anything I can help you with?’
‘Er, no I’m fine you should probably go to class though the bell is going to ring any second’
‘No its not’ his voice got a bit meaner, there wasn’t really anyone else around she was quite early and his look scared her in a way she didn’t want to remember,
‘No really I’m fine I don’t want any help, I’m fine on my own’ he started to walk closer to her and started to back her up to the board,
‘Well I’m sure I can still help you in another way, seeing as you are so pretty you can give me an apology by being my girlfriend until I get bored of you’. Mai was scared she didn’t know what to do she wouldn’t be able to do anything and all of her voice had just gone from her throat, she closed her eyes hoping someone would come and help her, she thought, anyone please, please help me, and she clenched up in order to protect herself even though she knew it would do no good for her.
She heard someone though him on the ground and heard a voice,
‘Get the hell away from her no one gets to touch her without my permission’ then as she slowly opened her eyes she saw the same shade of dark brown hair as Robbie’s, he turned around and picked her up, she was startled by this but she felt safe she knew that he wouldn’t harm her. They got inside the school, the hall ways were empty and he put her down, he looked at her, but this time differently, this time he gazed at her eyes,
‘Who knew that little girl I once knew would turn into such a beauty’ her face went red, he looked up and down at her, looking at her light brown, softly curled hair that came down just beside her elbow, her deep blue eyes gazing up at him, she couldn’t speak a word. He brought himself back up, ‘It’s annoying that’ he paused ‘never mind, and so you don’t need to see that creep again outside your class is 1B, see you around and don’t get yourself into too much trouble’ he turned and walked away leaving her standing in amaze, she wanted to thank him but no words could come out she just watched him leave, knowing that she would never get to thank him again.
She looked around for a bit he had left her outside of class 2A, she then found the 1st year corridor and found her class, she could hear voice’s coming from inside she slowly opened the door to find a group of girl’s all talking when they saw her they suddenly stopped one waved her over smiling at her,
‘Hey I’m Izzy and these are my friends Sarah and Ellie, what’s yours?’
‘Hey, I’m Mai’
‘Well nice to meet you we saw what happened down by the boards we were about to tell a teacher but then we saw that guy from the year above come over and save you, do you know him or something?’ she looked at Mai in a playful way,
‘Er, no not really, he’s just my neighbour but I have never talked to him before today in fact he has never even seemed the slightest bit of interest in me before today’
‘Well in the way he came running to you made it look like he really cares about you he walked away from a really hot girl who looked as though she was confessing to him’ Ellie said with a smile on her face,
‘Yer and he got really angry at that creep’ Sarah blurted out
‘Do you like him, cause you would have a chance with him by the looks of things cause the rumours are that he likes a girl in the year below and he won’t be with anyone else, so he turns his gaze away even if they are the hottest girl in school’, after Izzy said that she looked over to Mai, by this point Mai was blushing, Mai thought to herself ‘could he like me and if he does why has he gone so long without saying anything and to be honest he has only gazed towards me once so it can’t be me’ she looked towards Izzy hoping that she hadn’t been caught. She too looked towards her and just smiled back.
‘Well, Sarah and Ellie had better get going I can hear other people the rest of the students will be arriving’
‘What? Are those two not in our class?’ Mai asked
‘No, afraid we’re not’ Sarah said
‘Yer, we’re in class 1A, but we will meet up at lunch, how’s in here for you guys?’ Ellie smiled at the two of them after saying this
‘Yer sounds good but I’m fine now that I got Mai in my class’ Izzy looked over at Mai and gave her a cheeky big grin, Mai smiled back, finally I’m going to have a normal school life. As the two of them left the class room the rest of their class came flooding in each in their own little groups, the two of them just stayed were they were talking. For the rest of the day they were being introduced to the school. But the same thing just kept on coming into her mind, why did he save why has he never taken any interest or talked to her before.
On her way home she wanted to get back quickly, she had a lot of things to do but she just couldn’t get Robbie of her mind; she started to run it may take her mind of things and then bash, ran straight into someone. She fell straight on her butt, if her day couldn’t get any more embarrassing,
‘Sorry, it was my fault’ she got up and bowed, the guy turned around,
‘It’s ok because it’s you’ she looked up and saw Robbie, she was stunned to see him because it was the first time that he had ever seen him smile, ‘Oh shit, I’m not meant to talk to you sorry I should go’ he turned around and was about to start working, Mai reached out her hand and grabbed onto his shirt,
‘Wait, I need to thank you for this morning and I need to know what is going on? You say you’re not allowed to speak to me, who told you that?’ he looked away at her then looked back, he put his hands on either side of her shoulders, he looked right into her eyes she felt lost, startled and she could tell her face was going red,
‘You don’t need to worry, ask you dad’
‘But what if I want to talk to you, can’t I’ from that remark his own face started to go red, she saw this and once his hands had left her shoulders she looked at him and smiled, ‘can we at least walk the rest of the way home together?’
‘Er, sure if you want’ they continued on walking and talking, Mai loved it; it was what she had always dreamed about. As they reached their houses, they said goodbye and he watched her enter her house. Robbie couldn’t help but watch her and then once she was no longer in site walk on into his own house.
He was greeted by his younger sister, she was 2 years younger than him so she was in her last year of middle school and she was standing there smiling at him,
‘Saw you with Mai, when are you going to tell her the truth?’ she looked annoyed at him ‘you have cared about her for so long now it’s about time?’
‘I know I just have to talk to her dad first otherwise I can’t do anything otherwise, anyway I got homework and so do you’ he just walked upstairs thinking ok that’s it this can’t go on any longer this is the day I will ask him but first I need a shower.
As Mai was getting in she looked around at her empty home she walked upstairs to her and opened her window and door onto her balcony and then went back inside, she got changed and then walked back downstairs, she looked around to see if her dad had left her anything, like any lists or food she needed to get but nothing, she stayed pretty on top of things in her home, saw what else she needed to do. After she had done all of it she walked back into the living room, she wasn’t alone, a tall large man was standing there. His eyes had a crazed looked to them, in his hand a knife in the other a sack, he moved in on her backing her towards the wall she bent down into a ball trying to protect herself. He laughed a bit and reached his hand out and clasped her top picking her up, her feet were dangling of the floor he was at least a foot taller than her,
‘You are very pretty maybe before I rob this place me and you can have some fun eh?’ he laughed a bit as he looked at her. Please anyone help me, please.
