Franks alarm went off at precisely 8:00 AM which made the guitarist groan and scramble around the sheets for his phone to deactivate the alarm. Finding it was easy because the bunk was so small, even for Frank. He stared at his phone and bit his lip trying to remember why he even set the stupid alarm in the first place.

Light snoring from the bunk across made it's ways to Franks ears, and his eyes widened as he remembered the offer he gave to Gerard, who in turn kindly accepted. Frank smiled to himself and went to the bathroom to get ready for his day. Unlike Gerard, Frank didn't need coffee immediately after he woke up, so he took time fluffing up his blondish hair and spiking it up perfectly. He rummaged through the medicine cabinet for the eyeliner he knew the Way brothers kept, found it and carefully outlined his eyes lightly in charcoal black. He smudged it around with his pinky and took a look at himself in the mirror.

'Not too shabby', he thought to himself. He started brushing his teeth when he it hit him.

Why was he getting ready for Gerard? Why was he trying to look his best for someone who saw them on a regular basis? For his best friend? Frank mulled it over his mind for a bit and pushed away the flutters of the butterflies that took refuge in his tummy. 'All part of the plan, all part of the plan, all pa-,'he convinced himself. He'd be a liar if he didn't say he was excited, and it wasn't a complete lie when he said he really wanted to go see the new slasher movie. He gave himself a few bonus points for being semi-honest with himself.

He spat out the excess toothpaste, rinsed and went to go find clothes that smelled decent. Frank ended up putting on a white Black Flag shirt with clean faded blue jeans with holes in the knees. Next, he put on his scuffed up converse and scratched the scorpion tattoo on his neck as he looked at the time.

9:02 AM 'Time to wake up sleeping beauty,'he thought to himself. He pulled the curtain from Gerards bunk, leaned down and tried to stifle giggles as he softly blew on Gerards neck. Gerards eye knitted together, mumbled sleepily and pulled his covers up more. Frank shook his head and tapped Gerards nose.

"Gee, wakey wakey."
Nothing.
"Gee i'm going to fucking castrate you if you don't wake up."
Nothing. Frank started to become a bit irritated and put his lips to Gerards ear and whispered, "Mikey accidentally spilt coffee all over your limited edition Doom Patrol."

"What?!" Gerards eyes flew open and sat up with such a force that he hit his head on the bunk above his. He grimaced and rubbed his forehead. He looked at Frank and saw him with a shit eating grin.

"You bastard, you scared the shit out of me. That was dirty, Iero."
"Gee baby don't be mad for too long, we have plans to carry out today!" And with that he tussled Gerards hair and sat on the couch waiting for Gerard to get dressed.

Gerard sighed and shook his hair into his face. He grabbed his pack of smokes, took out a cigarette, lit it and inhaled deeply. After finishing his cigarette he searched through his duffle bag of clothes and ended up with an alright scented Misfits shirt with black jeans and a leather jacket. He fought to put on his black Doc Martins but eventually he won the battle. Gerard brushed his hair with his fingers and tucked a cigarette behind his ear before making his way to the kitchenette.

An arm shot out and linked with his. "Ah ah ah Gerard, I told you I'm taking you out to coffee!" Frank exclaimed.

"B-but I need it right now," he whined.
"Then we'll go right now, fuckface. I know just the place, actually," Frank mocked back, and with that Frank dragged Gerard out of the bus and to a parked car. He rose his eyebrow at Frank who in returned pulled a sheepish smile and shrugged.

"I traded one of my CD's to someone on crew to let me borrow their car for the day."
"I'm not even worried about how you got the damn car, because I'm fucking petrified of how you drive," Gerard grinned as he slid into the passager seat.
"Hey, dick! I drive like a saint, like you're one to talk. Mr 'Oh Shit I Swear I Didn't See That Fucking Stop Sign Coming Up,' Frank laughed and pulled the car into the street. Gerard turned on the radio and rock filled the car. He looked out of the window and took notice of how beautiful everything was. There were so many trees, and all of these beautiful old homes that looked like miniature castles and gingerbread houses. There were flowers everywhere and some of the houses had artistic iron statues in the front. He looked at what they were wearing and for a quick second he thought that they would look out of place.

"Where are we?" He asked softly.
"Some small city called Claremont. I was talking to the guy who owns this car and he's from here. He told me that there's this cute little coffee shop next to a old theatre which is also next to this 'awesome' record store. Our fucking odds, huh?" Franks smiled while still looking ahead. Gerard giggled quietly and looked down at his lap and couldn't get the feeling that this was a date. A date? With Frankie?'Stop thinking stupid, Gerard,' he thought to himself. Sure, he had a major crush on the cute guitarist, and sure he knew Frank was into guys, everybody knew Frank was into gays. But that didn't mean he had to find Gerard attractive..right? He bit his lip and pushed away his feelings.

They quickly came to the downtown part of the city and there were small restaurants, bars, and antique shops. There were art students everywhere. He suddenly didn't feel out of place. Frank parked the car and they got out and lead Gerard to this adorable little house. It was a soft yellow with lavender shutters, with a rounded roof that had a crooked brick chimney coming out of it. The sign said 'Mama's Coffee & Pie' and he smiled at the humble little name.

When they walked into the coffee house, they were instantly hit with the smell of coffee and baked goods. It made both of their mouths water.

"Aren't you glad that I made you wait for coffee?" Frank smiled shyly at him, his hazel eyes glowing.
"Definitely, this place looks like it came out of a fucking disney movie."

After they ordered their drinks and pie, they took them to an empty booth that had a dark red velvet table cloth. They sat across from each other and Gerard smiled widely at Frank, flashing him his small nicotine stained teeth. "You really didn't have to do this, Frankie," he said.
"Why wouldn't I, Gee? You're my best fucking friend and I really-.. Never mind." Frank averted his eyes down to look at his untouched coffee, tonguing his lip ring.
"No what is it? You can tell me, don't shut me out," Gerard lifted Franks face up to look at him.
"It's just..I miss you. I miss you like fucking crazy. We're best friends for fuck sakes, and we never spend time together," he looked into Gerards eyes with a sad expression, "I miss you."

Gerard felt his heart break at Franks miserable expression so he slid next to Frank and wrapped his arms tightly around the smaller man, squeezing tightly. "Then we'll have to change that, wont we?" Gerard murmured into Franks hair. He felt him nod his head, and Gerard smiled. He scooted away a bit to take an actual look at Frank. He was wearing a tight Black Flag shirt that showed off his slim figure, tight holey jeans that exaggerated the curves of his legs. He felt his face get hotter and started coughing, flapping his hands a bit. Frank patted his back and rubbed soothingly to help calm Gerards little coughing fit.

"Hey, you okay there princess? Why is your face red?" Frank asked knowingly.
"It's nothing, it's j-just that the c-coffee's hot and the air in here is clammy."
Frank grinned at him, "Suuuure it is, Gee."

Gerard blushed more and grabbed his coffee, drinking in deeply, closing his eyes. It was the best coffee he'd ever had, and he made an 'mmm' sound. He peered at Frank over his coffee mug and saw that he was looking at him. He blushed even more, especially when Frank asked what was wrong.
"It's just...That..Um..You look really n-nice today. I never see you dress up. Is that..Frank Iero are you wearing eyeliner?" Gerards eyes narrowed down to slits as he smirked at Frank.

Frank felt flustered and looked at everything but Gerard. "No! Maybe.." he mumbled, embarrassed.

"It looks good." Frank beamed at the compliment and giggled, and started to stuff his face with pie. After they drank their beverages and ate their food, they ordered coffee to go and headed off to the slasher movie. Frank had insisted on paying for their tickets. They got there just in time, and it was pure luck that the theatre was nearly vacant. They took seats in the middle of the theatre and settled in as the movie started.

Gerard noticed that Frank was acting a little more jumpy during the movie than he did when he watched horror films. He usually laughed a lot and never put his hands to cover his eyes. This time Frank shrunk back into his seat with his knees pulled up and tucked under his chin.

"D'aw, is wittle Fwankie scared?" Gerard teased and fluffed up Franks hair. Frank whined and threw popcorn at his face.
"Shutup, asshole," he muttered.
Gerard laughed and smiled down at the guitarist. As the movie continued Frank became more unsettling, and would flinch every time someone popped up out of nowhere or when someone was decapitated. At one point Frank reached out and grabbed Gerards wrist tightly. About thirty minutes have passed and Frank has yet to let go of Gerards wrist. Frank unconsciously started to rub small circles on the skin of his wrist, and all of the attention Gerard was giving to the movie was directed to the nimble fingers on his wrist. It was a soothing gesture but it filled Gerards tummy up with butterflies. He didn't dare to look at Frank until he felt him lean on his shoulder, shyly hiding his face into his chest. Gerard shivered and Frank noticed it.

"Is this okay? I didn't know it would be this gruesome," Frank said slowly.
Gerard nodded and smiled down at him, "Yeah, it's totally fine," feeling his face flood with heat.

If Frank was honest with himself, he'd say that he forgot about the goal of all this, and was actually starting to see Gerard in a completely new light. He saw how sweet and stupidly goofy Gerard could be and it filled him with a feeling he hasn't felt in years, a feeling that wanted him to move past the friendship stage and into something more. Frank squeezed his eyes shut at the thought and tried to shake it off. He couldn't feel this way. 'This is only supposed to be for sex, feelings fuck everything up. This could ruin the band. This could make him hate me forever,' Frank thought to himself.

But at that moment, he didn't care. What he knew was certain was the cheap cologne smell that came off of Gerard, how warm Gerard was, how Gerard didn't pull away every time Frank hid away from the screen and into Gerards chest. He didn't care about anything other than that moment.

But even through all of this, Frank couldn't shake the feeling of knowing that all of this would end up badly.
