Stuck at an intersection
Too scared to move
But too far ahead to turn back
Every turn leads you down the wrong road
You failed, yet again,
Wrote the wrong words,
Took the wrong turn,
Made the wrong move
You feel the eyes on the back of your head
But you can’t bring yourself to look up from your feet
Planted firmly on the ground.
You want to apologize,
You want to plead forgiveness
From anyone and everyone
But you can’t.
You can’t talk,
You can’t move
For fear of disappointing again.
