Stretched out taut and shining
the lucid sheen of skin
reality's silver lining
at it's best should be drawn thin
Let's gather round for supper
in this gloomy, darkened room
all we are but puppets
under brooding, lurking doom
But now it doesn't matter
if you stare or close your lids
queen, common or tattered
all of prejudice be rid
Welcome to a new world
in the darkness we're all blind
feel other senses curled
like hands around your mind
Let me tell you how it feels
to live life like a bird
I don't ache for being seen
I cry out to be heard
the lucid sheen of skin
reality's silver lining
at it's best should be drawn thin
Let's gather round for supper
in this gloomy, darkened room
all we are but puppets
under brooding, lurking doom
But now it doesn't matter
if you stare or close your lids
queen, common or tattered
all of prejudice be rid
Welcome to a new world
in the darkness we're all blind
feel other senses curled
like hands around your mind
Let me tell you how it feels
to live life like a bird
I don't ache for being seen
I cry out to be heard
