Gerard's POV
I stood, rooted to the spot, mouth open, surprised; shocked by what I was seeing. I don't think Frankie quite understood what had happened either. The corridor had gone silent. The hustle and bustle of students getting to their last lesson on the Friday afternoon before spring break had come to a stop to stare. Shayne lay on the floor, clutching his nose, which looked to be bleeding; Frankie's arm was extended out in front of him. One jock looked up and stared at Frankie
"Fucking freak, you'll pay for that." Their voice broke the silence. I grabbed hold of Frankie's out stretched arm. He looked around me, confusion painted across his face
"Run," I breathed and without second thought, Frankie and I pushed our way through the crowds, fighting to get out of the hell hole and to the safety of the outside. Looking back over my shoulder, and keeping a firm grip of Frankie, I could see a few jocks trying to push through the crowds, but were held back as teachers began to flood out of class rooms. Breaking free, through the double doors and out the gates, I didn't care where our feet took us, as long as it was away from school. Frankie kept glancing over his shoulder. Our pace slowed as we neared the park, climbing over the wall. I dragged Frankie over to the climbing frame and sat underneath it. Frankie stared ahead of him, chest heaving heavily. I hate running with a passion, but it had to be done. A sudden realisation hit me; Mikey and Holly were still at school. I fumbled around for my phone quickly and text as fast as I could
Mikey – I don't care what lesson you and Holly are in, get out of school now. Will explain when you get to the park. G xox
I hated the fact that if the jocks couldn't get me or Frankie, they could easily get to Mikey and Holly. I'd feel sick, if they did anything to them, especially Holly. If Holly got hurt today, a few days after finding out she was pregnant, I don't think I'd be able to live with myself. I was brought back to reality as my phone buzzed
Be there in about ten M xo
I sighed with relief and shoved my phone back into my pocket. I looked round to see Frankie staring at me
"What happened?" His voice was shaky. I gazed deeply at him, out stretched my hand and cupped his cheek
"You stood up for yourself." His eyes looked in a different direction. I watched him carefully; it was like you could see the words processing around his mind. He looked back at me
"Stood up for myself?" He seemed so unsure of himself, which caused me to chuckle; I couldn't help it. I leaned forward and kissed him softly. He relaxed and ran a hand up my arm. I smiled and pulled away
"Yes Frankie, you stood up for yourself, and I'm proud of you." A small smile came to his face
"I feel weird," Frankie spoke shaking his head a little, still smiling. I giggled as I watched him
"It's like a weight has been lifted up, off my chest, I feel really light and happy." I raised an eyebrow, smirking slightly as he looked at me. He chuckled before pushing me playfully backwards and straddling my hips. I giggled and pulled his face down to mine
"Tell me, what happened back there, I remember Shayne approaching, but the rest was a blur, then running and being here," Frankie said. His breathed tickled my face. I smiled
"I'll tell you, when Mikey and Holly get here, save having to tell the story twice." He pouted
"Please?" I chuckled
"Hmm . . . . . . how about . . . . . . . you wait for Mikey and Holly," I suggested before kissing his lips
"But-" Frankie began as he pulled away. I laced my fingers through his hair, pulled his face closer and kissed him softly. He didn't put up a fight as he kissed back, running his tongue along my bottom lip, sparking goose bumps along my arms. Two guys kissing out in public, can cause heads to turn, but things to be said if two guys make out in a children's play park.
"Gerard?" Frankie pulled away. I pushed myself up
"Over here!" I smiled at Frankie, who had flushed pink. Leaning forwards he kissed me softly
"Not interrupting something are we?" Holly asked appearing, a smile on her face
"No," Frankie said as I pushed him off me. Holly giggled as Mikey appeared, ducking down lower. Holly leaned against Mikey
"What happened? Why did you want us out?" Mikey asked
"And why were the teachers out in the corridors ushering everyone along?" Holly was curious and stared between me and Frankie. Frankie looked at me
"You explain, seeming as you saw it all," Frankie said. Mikey had an eyebrow raised. I sighed and cleared my throat
"You know what Shayne is like for confronting us in lesson crossings, breaks and after school and stuff." They all nodded their heads
"Well, he approached me and Frankie in the corridor, tried to confront us like he does, got the point where I had Frankie behind me and I was about to swing for Shayne as he wouldn't shut up, until someone screeched shut up you stuck up, big nosed bastard." I stared at Frankie
"What?" Frankie said
"You said that Frank?" Holly asked. Frankie laughed and looked around
"I did?" Frankie asked looking me. I chuckled
"The fight or flight, guess the fight kicked in, in the rush you probably don't remember it now but will later," I said with a smile. Holly giggled and Mikey smiled
"You stood up, for yourself, for me, for Holly and for Mikey, everything, the corridor seemed to stop and stare. You spoke your heart out, said how it was wrong of him to beat people up for who they are, how you weren't scared of him, and that you have something to live for and people that you love and love you in return." I giggled as Frankie looked round
"But what you did next surprised everyone, including me!"
"What did he do?" Mikey asked
"You punched Shayne, in the face, and Shayne fell over." Frankie's eye grew wide
"Wow," Mikey said, raising his eyebrows and looking at Frankie
"Don't mess with Frank," Holly giggled
"I did what?" Frankie asked
"Punched Shayne in the face, think his nose was bleeding, might even be broken." Frankie stared at me, disbelievingly as Mikey and Holly laughed
"Stop joking around Gee!" Frankie said pushing my arm playful. I chuckled
"Oh really – then how's your hand?"
"What?" Frankie asked. I gently picked up Frankie's hand and squeezed in gently
"Ow!" Frankie pulled his hand away and Holly and Mikey raised an eyebrow
"At which point, we ran out of there before any of the other jocks threw punches," I said looking round
"I really hit him?"
"Well your hand hurts doesn't it?" I giggled
"Yeah . . . . ."
"Good on you Frank," Mikey said smiling
"Well, it looks like we've all started our Spring Break an hour early," Holly said
"Come on, let's head home," Mikey said crawling back out and helping Holly back to her feet
"I really did those things?" Frankie asked. I nodded my head
"Most amazing and beautiful thing I had ever seen," I said with a smile. Frankie nodded his head
"I missed a bit out though." Frankie looked at me
"In your outburst, in front of everyone, you kissed me." Frankie's eyes grew wide. I giggled. If I'm honest I think that's what shocked me the most, in the one place we've never dreamed of kissing, Frankie pulled me in for a long, meaningful kiss in front of Shayne, to get his point across; the soul main reason as to why Shayne ended up on the floor with a bleeding a nose
"Like I said, it will come back to you, and you'll remember it," I said crawling out to go join Mikey and Holly. Frankie followed behind and took hold of my hand
"How did you two get out anyway?" I asked curiously
"With the teachers out in the corridor, we slipped out," Holly said
"Got collared by our teacher, but I said that Holly wasn't feeling very well and she let us go," Mikey said putting his arm around Holly
--------------------------------------------------
I sat quietly on my bed, with Frankie next to me. Frankie sat with an old sketch pad of mine, pencils and colouring pens by his side, while he sat drawing, concentration plastered across his face. It was rather cute, which made me smile. It was getting late in the evening; mum and dad had gone to bed early and Holly and Mikey as far as I knew were sat in the living room together. I glanced over at what Frankie was drawing before letting my eyes go back to the comic that Mikey had let me read
"Oh my god," Frankie whispered. I looked back up and round
"What?" He looked round at me
"I did hit Shayne didn't I," he said, his voice and face serious. I giggled, put the comic down and put my arm around him and cuddled him
"Told you, you'd remember it."
"Fuck, I am so dead when we go back!" Frankie covered his face with his hands
"Hey, you got two weeks yet! Don't think about it!" I squeezed him a little
"And I did kiss you, didn't I?" I nodded my head. Frankie looked round
"It will be fine." He smiled before reaching up and kissing the corner of my mouth. He glanced back down at his drawing and began to chuckle
"Never gonna be as good as you when it comes to drawing," he chuckled. I giggled at his drawing attempt of me and him. It was childish but I loved it. I took the sketch pad, ripped the page out and climbed off my bed and over to my desk to search for a drawing pin
"Fuck!"
"Are you ok?" Frankie asked, chuckling slightly
"Found what I was looking for," I said holding up a drawing pin. I ran back to my bed and knelt down as I fought the drawing pin into the wall. I smiled and looked at the drawing Frankie had made, that now proudly hung on my wall
"Forgot something," Frankie said picking up a pencil. He scribbled his name across the picture and giggled childishly. I laughed as he pushed the pens and pencils onto the floor, kicked his skinnies off and pulled both his hoodie and t-shirt off, kicking them to the floor and crawling under the covers. He giggled as I did the same and crawled in next to him. I switched the light off and cuddled up close to Frankie
"It's dark," Frankie whispered. I chuckled
"That's because it's night time," I whispered back
"Gee?"
"Yeah?"
"I love you." I felt his breath tickle my neck
"I love you too Frankie," I said with a smile. I felt him kiss my neck, in which I kissed the top of his head, before he shuffled around and got comfy. I breathed in and sighed happily as I closed my eyes and fell asleep.
--------------------------------------------------------
Holly's POV
"Not too much!" I giggled as a white cloud puff rose from the bowl. Mikey coughed and put the bag of icing sugar down
"Well we want enough to cover the cake," Mikey protested. I giggled. Waking up with morning sickness has to be the worst thing having to rush to the bathroom at seven o'clock every morning. But in a way today it was useful. Me and Mikey had volunteered on making Gerard a birthday cake, saving Donna having to make it. I'm surprised that Gerard hasn't woken up – pots and pans falling to the ground, laughing and arguing over ingredients. The cake was still cooling and now we had the job of making butter icing and then decorating the cake. I giggled as we added in the rest of the ingredients
"Uh, what do we do now?" Mikey asked looking puzzled
"You beat it, until I say stop," I giggled. I watched as he took the wooden spoon and beaten to beat the icing sugar and butter together
"Wait!" He paused, while I spun around and grabbed hold of the pot of cocoa powder. Another cloud, this time brown rose into the air as the lid came off. I sprinkled it into the mixture and grinned
"Keep going." I smiled as he kissed me on the cheek. I giggled as I saw he had blushed a little
"It's not working." I glanced around after five minutes of staring out the window
"That's because you need to add a little bit of milk."
"You could have told me," Mikey said walking away to get the milk from the fridge
"I'd have thought you'd have seen it written down," I said chuckling a little
"Yeah but you're telling me what to do, now how much did I need to add?" I giggled more at the look on his face. I thought I was the one meant to be having mood swings, not Mikey. I moved over, closer to him, taking the milk from his hand
"Calm, Mikey, calm," I whispered. I smiled and kissed his jaw line before turning and pouring a small amount of milk into the butter icing and leaving it on the side. I smiled quickly at Mikey before taking the wooden spoon and working the mixture. I jumped a little as I felt his arms wrap around my waist, but relaxed and leaned into him, still stirring away
"I think we can start to decorate the cake now," I said holding up the wooden spoon. Cold air chilled me as Mikey moved his arms away and brought the cake over
"Can I ice it?"
"You sound like a little kid," I giggled as he grabbed the spoon
"That's because I am a little kid," he chuckled
"A palette knife might be better to spread it."
"A what knife?" I shook my head laughing
"This," I held up the palette knife
"Oh, didn't know we had one of those."
"Can tell how much cooking you do around here," I mumbled, "But use the spoon to get the icing on the cake. I watched for a moment before giggling
"You're so messy!" I giggled grabbing hold of his hands
"Unlike you and the cake mixture!" He tried pulling his hands away
"I wanna lick the icing off!" Mikey protested, but a childish smile playing on his face. I giggled more as I spun around, holding his hands behind his back
"Pretty please?" I giggled and let go of his hands
"You really are such a big kid Mikey, if this child is a boy; he is going to be exactly like you." I giggled at the expression on Mikey's face as he thought of what I said. If I'm honest, I'd love to have a baby boy, won't have to worry about the hormone swings at the teenage years if it's a girl. Plus it would look adorable too
"Going to guess the butter icing tastes good." Mikey smiled and nodded his head
"Wanna taste?" I giggled and before I could reply, the sweet taste of chocolate came to my senses as Mikey leaned down and kissed me softly. I smiled
"Tastes good," I giggled. Mikey smiled before kissing me again
"You know, I don't know what would be worse, Gerard walking in and finding out you two are making out while making his cake or your mother and father walking into the kitchen, Mikey." I pulled back and spun round to see Frank leaning against the door frame half asleep
"And I don't know what my parents would think if they saw you coming up form Gerard's room in just your boxers." His hair was a mess, his eyes sleepy still. He furrowed his brown and stared Mikey down. I giggled as I picked up the palette knife and continued to decorate the cake
"Just pointing out the fact," Mikey said calmly. Frank wondered over
"Looks good."
"How long before he wakes up do you think?" Mikey asked
"He's still asleep, but will probably wake up soon as he smells coffee," Frank chuckled. Mikey laughed
"True."
"I'll keep him in his room for as long as I can," Frank said. I glanced at Mikey and smirked
"And how exactly are you going to do that," I asked icing the sides of the cake
"Making him read a comic to me or something," Frank shrugged. Mikey laughed
"Yeah, yeah, I got a pretty good idea as to what you two would do, just keep it down," Mikey joked. I shook my head icing the last of the sides and looking around
"Ow!" I turned round to see Frank had jumped on Mikey's back. I chuckled
"Oh come on, you wanna wake Donna, Don and Gerard up?" Frank glanced at Mikey before jumping down and picking up two mugs and filling the kettle. Mikey straightened himself out
"Where's the piping bag?" Mikey looked blankly at me for a second before turning around and going to a draw
"What time did you two get up?" Frank asked. I glanced around at the clock to see it was twenty to nine
"Seven, that's when it kicks in," I said as Mikey walked back over with a piping bag. Frank raised an eyebrow, looking confused
"Ha Frank, I don't wanna tell you otherwise it will put you off your coffee and you look cute and funny when you're confused," I chuckled. Mikey laughed too. He did, he looked like a lost child at times when he was confused, with his big eyes. Frank stuck his tongue out, making him look more childish
"Meh, I think I can guess anyway." I could hear the clatter of Frank moving around and the sound of the kettle boiling, while I spooned in the rest of the butter icing into the piping bag that Mikey held open
"Are we putting the chocolate buttons on afterwards?" Mikey asked
"Yep, then it's done," I smiled
"Can I-"
"Yes, you can do the piping," I giggled
"Thanks." I smiled as I felt a kiss on the side of my head
"I'll leave you two, to it," Frank said
"I reckon we only need about ten to fifteen minutes to do this," Mikey said as Frank walked to the door, with two mugs of coffee
"Sweet, I can give you that." He disappeared out of the room
"Right," I said placing down the spoon and taking hold of the bag, "This is how we do piping."
Frank's POV
Maybe I should have chucked a hoodie on before going up into the kitchen and making coffee. I could feel the cold nip at my skin, making me shiver a little. But it didn't matter too much; I had two mugs of coffee and would soon be back in the warmth and comfort of Gee's bed. Apart from Mikey and Holly fussing around in the kitchen, it was relatively quiet in the house. Tip-toeing down the stairs to the basement, balancing the mugs and opening Gee's bedroom door, I stepped back into the safety of his room. I nudged the door shut with my foot and glanced around his room. It never seems to change; paper with lyrics on scattered everywhere, comic books in a pile near his bed, numerous sketchbooks spread out through his room. Drawings took over his desk, along with homework. School books thrown carelessly onto the floor and clothes dumped in piles around the room. If you looked hard enough you could probably find discarded coffee mugs. My eyes scanned his walls and checked out each band poster he had, and then the drawing I drew last night. I chuckled quietly before shivering slightly. My eyes came to rest on the sleeping form in the bed. Gee's black raven hair fallen across his face, cheeks a rosy pink compared to his pale body. His mouth was ever so slightly open as he slept, breathing deeply. He was adorable to look at even when he was sleeping. Dodging the obstacles on the floor, and the aroma of coffee starting to fill the room, I sat lightly on the edge of the bed and waited for Gee to stir from his peaceful slumber. It wasn't long, before his eye lids began to flicker. His hazel eyes gazed back up with me, taking in the surroundings before his pale pink lips formed into a smile
"Happy Birthday Gee, thought you might want a coffee." He smiled more and sat up. Cupping a hand around a mug of coffee he pressed his lips to mine
"Thank you Frankie," he whispered. I smiled and felt my cheeks tingle a little
"Do you think you could let me back into bed, it's chilly upstairs." Gee chuckled, sitting back, taking his coffee with him and kicked the cover back. I clambered in and sat on him, to make sure he didn't go anywhere, especially upstairs. I wanted to give my word and give Holly and Mikey a chance to finish the cake
"Sleep well?" he mumbled. I wiggled around a bit, earning a chuckle and I do believe a small gasp from Gee. I cuddled into him as much as I could, allowing his body heat to warm me back up
"I always sleep well cuddled up next to you Gee, how about you?"
"Like a baby." I looked to see a smile playing on his face
"How is your hand?" My hand? I stared blankly at him before he chuckled
"Yesterday, in the hallway, you sent someone flying . . . . . . . "
"Oh yeah! Fine, doesn't seem to hurt," I said holding up my hand, flexing my fingers and inspecting it closer, before Gee's warm hand took hold of it
"So, what are we doing today on your birthday then??" Gee laughed before kissing my shoulder
"Well, when Ray and Bob get here and if we ever get dressed, mum is kicking us out of the house so she can get the place ready for family, so we'll go into town and hang around there for a bit, then come back, see family, food, then I no doubt we'll get up to no good playing games," Gee giggled at the last part and I smiled. I had his birthday present in two parts. The first part was in my bag, hiding there until later on. His other present be something similar to what he gave me for my birthday. I smiled at the thought and cuddled into Gee more as we sipped our coffee. We sat in a peaceful silence, listening to the sounds that could be heard coming from upstairs
"BOYS! RAY AND BOB ARE HERE!!"
"How can your mum shout and not wake up the neighbourhood is amazing," I mumbled. Gee giggled
"OK!" Gee called back. It had been at least fifteen minutes, long enough for Holly and Mikey to finish the cake
"I don't wanna move, it's nice and warm here," Gee mumbled
"Aww come on Gee-bear!" I kissed his forehead before kicking the duvet off and diving out of bed and grabbing my hoodie and jeans from yesterday and pulled them on. I glanced back round to see Gee lying in bed still, duvet pulled over him
"I'm not moving," Gee chuckled clutching onto the duvet. I shook my head
"You asked for this." Without warning, I dived onto the bed and began to wrestle the duvet from his hands
"No!" Gee cried, before laughing and tugging at the duvet more. I rolled back off the bed and landed with a thump, before an idea struck me
"Fine," I huffed. I crawled to the end of the bed, his watchful eyes watching my every move. This was bound to get him out of bed. I chuckled mischievously before crawling under the covers and up between Gee's legs
"What are you doing?" Gee asked curiously but I could hear the smile in his voice
"Oh, nothing," I replied, running my hands up his legs. I moved further up the bed, being careful as to where I let my hands roam
"Frankie," Gee chuckled, he said lifting up the cover, his face coming into view. I grinned at him running my hand slowly up the inside of his leg, higher, and higher, coming close to his package. I kissed around the hem of his jeans, watching for Gee's reaction and the right time. He relaxed and rested his head back. His grip on the duvet loosened
"Not now Gee!" I chuckled, grabbing hold of the duvet and ripping it from his grip. I chuckled and moved as quick as I could off his bed
"Fuck it's cold!!! Gimmie back my duvet!" Gee shouted, diving off his bed and at me. I opened his bed room door and ran upstairs, carrying the duvet with me. I chuckled more and ran through the living room, which was empty and into the kitchen. I stopped and beamed at Mikey and Holly. The kitchen was tidy, no evidence of a cake being baked. Bob and Ray stood, staring, confused and bemused
"Frank Iero! You get back here with my duvet now!" Gee called as he ran in and stopped dead
"Ok," I chuckled handing him his duvet as he wrapped it around himself, his cheek flushing red as Bob, Ray, Holly and Mikey tried not to laugh
"I'm not even going to ask," Mikey said looking at me, smiling. I chuckled
"Happy Birthday Gerard," Ray said cheerily, smiling
"Thanks Ray," Gee said smiling
"Yeah, Happy Birthday dude," Bob said grinning
"Cheers," Gee said still smiling
"Gerard why on earth are you wrapped in your duvet?" came Donna's voice. We looked around to see Donna stood in the door way, eyebrows raised at Gerard, while Donald stood behind her, holding back his laughter
"No reason," Gee said glancing at me and smirking. I chuckled quietly, bowing my head
"Well, you four all need to get dressed and then get out of here for a bit," Donna said
"Ok mum," Mikey said smiling
"Yeah, you'll all need to be back by five though," Donald said
"We will, that's if we don't get thrown out of the mall first," Gee said, mumbling the last bit loud enough for me to hear
"Well, go on then!" Donna said
"You go get dressed first," Mikey said to Holly. Holly kissed his cheek and disappeared out of the kitchen
"Oh and Gerard." Gee stopped and turned round to face his mother
"Happy Birthday," Donna and Donald said in unison. Gee smiled, before running over and enveloping them into an awkward hug
"Yeah, Happy Birthday big brother," Mikey smiled. Gee hugged Mikey tightly
"Yeah, yeah, go on, go get dressed," Mikey said chuckling and pushing Gee away. I followed behind Gee
"I'm coming with you, to make sure you don't go back to bed," I whispered. Gee turned around, giggling
"You spoil all my fun Frankie!" Gee teased and ruffled up my hair
"Hey!" Gee chuckled and began to run. I gave chase and chased him all the way back down to his bedroom.
----------------------------------------------------------
Gerard's POV
"So you knocked him flat out?" Ray asked, eyebrows raised in surprise
"Well, yeah, I guess something inside me just snapped and I hit him," Frankie said, looking innocent
"Nice one mate," Bob said punching Frankie in the shoulder
"Ow, thanks Bob," Frankie smiled, clutching his shoulder. I glanced out the window to see how much further it was until we got into town. After messing around before changing and then marched out of the house before having the chance to grab any breakfast, we got on the first bus that arrived to go into town. I smiled and wrapped my arm around Frankie. Ray and Bob updated on life at school; how school just seemed shit, and couldn't wait to leave
"Well, I won't be going back in September that's for sure, there's no point!" Holly said simply
"I'm not going back either," Mikey said quietly
"Whoa, wait, what? Mikes you can't drop out!" I said, surprised from what Mikey had said
"Well, how else am I going to start earning money for me, Holly and the baby?" Mikey had lowered his voice down, so that other passengers on the bus don't hear
"Well, do mum and dad know?" He nodded his head in response
"How were they?"
"Ok, you know I don't really like being at school, I want to be with Holly and the baby when it's born, besides, I know enough as it is."
"Have you started to look for a job yet?" Ray asked
"I've got one, which I start in September."
"What is it?" Frankie asked
"I'll be working in Barnes and Noble, it's something and earns money," Mikey said simply. He looked at me hopefully. I smiled
"Good for you Mikey." I reached over, grabbed the beanie off his head and ruffled his hair
"Gee, thanks Gerard," Mikey snatched the beanie back and adjusted his hair. Frankie laughed his childish laugh
"Whoa, this is our stop," Holly said standing up quick. Ringing the bell, she dragged Mikey down the front of the bus, the rest of us following closely behind her. The street was busy as we jumped off the bus, Ray being the only kind one to say a thank you to the bus driver
"Come on," I said grabbing Frankie's hand and heading inside the mall, closely followed by the others
"So, where to first?" Bob asked. Before I could answer, Holly dragged Mikey forwards
"Obviously that way," Frankie chuckled following. We made our way through the crowds, the early shoppers dashing out of the mall, bags in hands. Teenagers filled the mall, going around in their groups, wearing the height of fashion clothes, girls orange, with their bleached roots and too thick make-up going around flaunting off whatever they had, which was the most ghastly sight you could look at. Then you had the guys, out in their best clothes, trying to pull girls, seeing them hang around outside Hollister and all the top fashion stores, any girl that came out, they advanced on. It was sick and repulsive at times. Other than the teenagers, you had the mothers, with the young children, children running riot, screaming that they were tired and wanted to go home. Or begging to go into a store to buy their favourite toy that they've only just spotted. You then had the middle aged couples, husband in tow as the wife gave strict orders, and the husband nodding in agreement, muttering the odd, "Yes dear," as they walked through the mall. Then you have the elderly couples, window shopping and sitting in small café's, the women sipping on tea, while the men sat reading their papers. Then there was us, the out casts in the shopping mall. Three straight teens, a pregnant teenager and two gay teenagers, dressed in their skinnies and hoodies, with eyeliner, wondering through the crowds, all wondering where Holly was taking us
"Where are we going?" Ray asked finally as two under-dressed girls turned around to stare. Holly stopped in front of one of the many stands, that sold various items. She walked along, until she reached one, with various fruits and vegetables on display
"Smoothies?" Bob questioned as Holly spoke to the person behind the stall
"Cravings I guess," Mikey shrugged
"Eww," Frankie wrinkled his nose up as he watched the combination of fruit and vegetables, get mixed together and blitzed
"It looks disgusting," I mumbled, seeing the colour change to a murky brown colour
"Dude, I dare you to ask to take a sip," Bob said nudging Ray
"No way!" Ray said pushing Bob a little
"Are you really going to drink that?" Frankie asked as Holly turned around, holding the smoothie. Holly nodded her head and took a sip and smiled
"Tasty," she smiled before drinking more
"Right . . . . . . so, birthday boy, where are we going?" Mikey asked drawing his gaze away from the disgusting looking smoothie. I looked around for a second
"Hot Topic?" Frankie's face lit up. I giggled as he pulled in the direction of Hot Topic
"I'll take that as a yes," I chuckled as we pushed our way through the crowds. Making it through the door, it was quiet in the shop. We seemed to all split up and go off, pulled towards different items of clothing. I giggled every time I looked round and saw Holly holding up different t-shirts to Mikey and then laughed more as Frankie wondered past holding hoodies, t-shirts and skinnies
"Come on," Frankie said grabbing my arm and pulling me towards the changing rooms. Bob smirked as Frankie dragged me past him
"Wait here," Frankie said finally letting go of my arm and running into a changing room and shutting the door. I chuckled
"Not like I'm going anywhere Frankie." I could hear him moving about. I glanced around to see Bob still lingering near by the hoodies. I turned back around when I heard the click of the lock on the changing room door. I smiled as Frankie walked out and chuckled as he twirled around before walking forwards
"You're such a pansy Frankie." I chuckled as he stuck his tongue out and then grinned
"Well?"
"Hmm, tight pants," I said, walking around him slowly, "Tight fitting band t-shirt . . . . . . last time you wore something like this, I found it very hard to keep myself off you." Frankie chuckled and blushed a pretty pink
"Yeah, well tight pants aren't exactly the most comfortable things to wear when you're next to someone who has the most beautiful features of an angel, but an angel who has a dark side." I chuckled and ruffled Frankie's hair up, earning a small growl as he fixed his hair again
"I don't think the staff would want us making out in their changing room," I whispered. Frankie grinned cheekily before reaching up on his tip-toes
"Or the mess that we would make." I kissed the tip of his nose as he giggled
"Get back in there and change," I said playfully pushing Frankie, but he only jumped up and attacked my lips with a quick, sloppy kiss before running back into the changing rooms
------------------------------------------------------------
After a good three quarters of an hour of Frankie running back and forth form the changing rooms and Holly pushing Mikey into a changing room to try on clothes and Bob and Ray arguing over two completely different bands, we finally left, bags in hand and stood and looked around, deciding where to go next
"I'm hungry," Holly said holding onto Mikey and looking up at him. Mikey giggled
"Yeah, I'm hungry too, I didn't get breakfast!" Frankie said jumping up and down
"And yet, you still look like you've had an over dose of sugar," Ray said watching Frankie jump and down on the spot
"Ok, food first then we continue to shop, agreed?"
"Agreed," everyone said in unison
"So food," Holly said looking at Mikey
"Anywhere that has a vegetarian option," Frankie said
"And coffee," Mikey chipped in
"Basically anywhere that serves decent food and coffee," Ray said
"More or less so, yeah," I said nodding my head
"I know," Holly said and once again was dragging Mikey through the crowds. I caught hold of Mikey, and we soon made a chain, being led by Holly. In the space of those forty five minutes, it had gotten busier in the mall
"Love you Holly!" Frankie called from behind me, seeing the restaurant Holly had brought us too. It was small, but clean and served hot and cold meals
"Going to guess you've been here before," Bob said sitting down at a table. Frankie and Holly both nodded their heads
"Frank decided to show me around the area and plus his mum wanted him to get out and get some fresh air," Holly said sitting down and picking up the menu
"When I discovered how mental she was," Frankie said sitting down next to me and smiling
"When you say discovered," Ray said and Holly chuckled
"You don't want to know," Frankie said laughing. Mikey raised an eyebrow at Holly
"I'll tell you later Mikey," she giggled, kissing his cheek and reading the menu again. I peered over Frankie's shoulder at the menu
"Hello, can I help you?" We glanced up at the waitress who had wondered over. She stared down at her pen and paper to take orders
"I'll have," Frankie said staring at the menu one last time. I had decided I'll have whatever Frankie chooses
"I'll have a veggie burger and a coke please."
"Make that two," I said and nudged Frankie
"Three," Bob said tossing the menu down onto the table. Ray, Holly and Mikey made their orders and the waitress walked away
"Well she seems the happiest person around," Bob mumbled, Frankie chuckled
"It's called a period," Holly muttered
"Or she is hanging," Ray said quietly
"Or a combination of the two," Mikey said putting his arm around Holly
"Whatever it is, I don't want to get on her bad side," I said watching as she walked back rolling her eyes, huffing loudly and leaning on the counter
"I say we go to the comic book store after this," Mikey suggested
"And then to the arts and crafts store, I want to get a few canvases and some paint, plus I saw a book in there the other week that I want to get to if it's still there."
"Sweet," Bob said. I zoned out as the others spoke. My gaze was drawn to Frankie several times, as he laughed and chuckled at things said. He looked at me a few times, smiling to which I smiled back at him. It was strange to think I was 18 now. And so very close to finishing school. It was weird to also look at my brother. He is younger than me, but he is still dropping out of school for a job and going to be a dad. In a strange way it scared me a little, as I looked at him, laugh with Holly. I could still see him, as a young boy of four, smiling and giggling at the things we used to do. In a strange way it felt like he was the older one and I was the youngest. I looked to Frankie again. I smiled and slipped my arms around his waist. I couldn't wait to finish school, yet I didn't want to think of what I was going to do afterwards; I had no idea whether I'd search for a job or go on further to look at a career in art. I shook the thought from my head as I saw the waitress walking back over with our food. I pushed the thoughts to the back of my head. It was my birthday and it was a day I was going to enjoy with my friends, family and the one I love.

Only two more chapters left to post! Enjoy this one :-) I'm sure you'll enjoy the next one though ;-)
