A Pointless Fable of a Sick, Lonely Boy
0 reviewsRingo's memories of being alone in the hospital.
1Insightful
Ringo couldn't stand being in quarantine. He hated not only his sicknesses, but his nurses as well. They always spoke in cheery, almost mocking voices.
"You'll be better in a few days!" they'd say.
"This won't hurt a bit!" they'd say.
"The food here is wonderful!" they'd say.
Bullshit, Ringo would reply back in his mind. It's all bullshit. At first, he'd let them bamboozle him with their fallacies. Now that he was older and used to his state of being, he just imitated them behind their backs.
However, what may have bothered him the most was that he was almost always alone. Sure, the nurses came in once in a while, but his only visitors were his family, and even they couldn't come in the room; instead, they were only allowed to view him from a glass wall that separated him from them. He felt as though he were lightyears away from everyone else, the tranquility of the wind and sounds of the hospital becoming his only friends.
