You and night are roughly slammed to the ground,
she crawls in your arms and whimpers
"I have a feeling that won't be the end of it" you say and look around, you figure if you try to take night anywhere, she will be taken from you, and if you stay there you can at least conserve energy for the next attack, so you decide to stay there and wait for the next demon to try and claim night.
You wait a long time, listening with your eyes closed, and night in your arms, you hear loud footsteps behind you, you turn, and there is the most frightening thing you have ever seen, a man's head with long streaming black hair, one eyeball, and half the flesh on his face is rotting off, his hands are a woman's long black fingernails, chipped cracked and broken, on one hand there is simply no flesh at all, just bones and small fragments of rot.
The rest of the body is covered in a long black hooded cape. It reaches out to you and night, you put night down behind you, and look at the demon with a challenging expression. The demon raises one hand, which you chop at with the sword that has just appeared in your hand, the gross part is that the hand doesn't come all the way off, it hangs by a little flesh, the demon screeches, so loudly and piercingly, you can barely remain standing the demon raises his other hand, and before you can swing your sword, a spell is cast, a large ball of light zooms at you, and knocks you to the ground, writhing in pain. You stand up,
"you will never get night!"
The demon screeches, the loudness and sharpness does knock you down this time, and the huge demon leaps on top of you, you struggle, rolling around and around on the hard dirt, the demon casts a spell that freezes your body, he opens his mouth to reveal huge canine teeth, he lowers his head, but you break free of his spell, and with the element of surprise tip him over, he disintegrates into thin air and appears standing a few feet from you. You raise your sword and charge towards the demon, but you hear a scream... NIGHT'S SCREAM!! You whirl around to see another demon snatching her up you drop the sword and run, full out to catch them, heart pounding in your chest, a sharp message of pain screaming inside your brain, you keep running
"LEAVE HER ALONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
You jump as high and as far as you can, aiming so you would land right on top of them, but right before you touch them, they disappear. You land hard on your side, breathing rough and scratchy, heart racing hands numb, you strain to push yourself up, and you see night, suspended horizontally in the air, about, five feet away from you, you stand, and start walking slowly to her
"night?" you take a step
"night, I love you" you take another step
"night?" now you are directly under her face, it's her,
"night?" you reach up, to touch her frozen face, the second you touch her cold skin, you are thrown to the ground by night, she looks almost the same except her eyes are black, she has an angry look on her face, and she is much stronger, she shakes you around trying to get a good grip on your neck
"NIGHT!!!! NO!!!! I KNOW YOU'RE IN THERE, STOP IT!! STOP THIS DEMON BEFORE IT DESTROYS US ALL!!!!!"
"I am demon, you are all going to die today!!"
Her eyes flashed back to normal, for a second,
"Save me, call my name, save me before it's to late!!"
Her eyes flashed back to black
"NIGHT!!"
"I am not night I am DEATH!!!!"
still struggling you shout
"YOU ARE NIGHT!! YOU ARE AN ANGEL!!!"
"NO!! I am DEATH THE DEMON QUEEN!!!!!"
You give her three thrusts trying to tip her over
"YOU-ARE-NIGHT"
and on the last thrust you tip her over, the demon screeched, and a wind blew from her face, it died down, and her eyes faded to normal,
"you did it, you beat the demons, the world is forever in your debt"
you hold her close
"I'll never let you go!"
