One of my all-time favorite lines ever: There were no sides, only men and women and children, screaming and dying as Ishbal fell.
Beautiful, beautiful job. I love the going back and forth in time, as Roy's mind tries to adjust to his current reality.
It's interesting that I kept getting parallels in my mind to "...Ever Widening Silence." Perhaps, one day in the far future, you and LJ should think about writing Ishballan-era Maes and Mustang.
