Trial #9:
Next Victim...
Bude's interview with Rachel:
"Please state your name."
"Rachel Wells."
"How long have you worked at Beach Radio Magazine?"
"Six months."
"Why such a short time?"
"My original company merged with them."
"And what was your original company?"
"Blast Attack."
"And how would you compare the two?"
"Beach Radio is better."
"And why is that?"
Rachel gave her a shrug. "Much easier to manage."
"Is that right?"
"That's right."
"Hm." Madison wrote down a few notes. Rachel tried to look at what she was writing.
"Taken any good notes?"
Madison didn't even look up. "I'll ask the questions here until I tell you otherwise, understand?"
Rachel sat back, frowning. "Yes."
"Yes, what?"
Rachel sighed. "Yes ma'am."
"Thank you. Describe the work atmosphere."
"It's rather laid back, but we all work it out."
"I see." Ms. Bude took down more notes.
Rachel tried to keep looking at what she was writing. The older woman glanced up at her.
"Seeing anything interesting?" she asked. Rachel quickly sat back and shook her head.
"No, no," she lied. "I'm fine."
Madison didn't say a word. She just wrote down more notes. Rachel frowned and rolled her eyes. The older woman glanced up at her.
"Problem?" she asked. Rachel faked a huge smile.
"No, ma'am," she lied. Lord, get me out of this hell! Ms. Bude looked up at her.
"Show me your portfolio."
"Yes ma'am." Rachel handed her the portfolio and the other woman took it.
"Thank you," she said. Rachel nodded. Madison looked over the portfolio for a moment and took some notes. Finally, the woman looked up.
"Thank you for your time," she said. Rachel rose to her feet.
"Thank you, ma'am," she replied back. They shook hands and Rachel left the room. She too joined Nessa in her "I hate Madison Bude rant" at their computers moments later.
