A/N: Hi guys, this is just a little song I came up with lately. It's written in a slightly different style from usual, so I'd love to know what you think.

Secret Phoenix Feathers

This is it, our chance to scream
Hungry lungs inflate with dreams
Open air, musty strings
Count the heartbeats
To new beginnings.
Time’s our voice,
But wounds don’t heal,
Only scar and scab,
Singe our choices
With what we don’t want to feel.

This brand new skin,
Secret phoenix feathers
We can fly from our sins
Like broken pebbles.

Open air, musty strings,
Count our heartbeats
To new beginnings.

Locked in silence
This ink and pen defiance;
It doesn’t count
‘Cause written feelings
Don’t amount
Or tell us who we are,
Only what we’ve found
How the coward in us runs
So fast and far
From all that we’ve become.

This brand new skin
Secret phoenix feathers,
We can fly from our sins
Like broken pebbles.

Open air, musty strings,
Count our heartbeats
To new beginnings.

Count our heartbeats
To new beginnings.

We hide away
Everyone else's shadows
‘Cause we’re afraid,
Of what we have to say-
Instead,
We let fiction delay
How we see the world;
Watch pollution unfurl;
And conquer all this,
Broken strings
In a blind abyss,

And Forget

The obscenity of truth;
What it does to our todays.

This brand new skin
Secret phoenix feathers...

Can we really fly from our sins,
Like broken pebbles?

Take to the turpentine sky,
Sketch our inky wings
We can really fly
If only we listen
To all our broken things.

We can really fly
If only we listen
To all our
Broken
Things.

This brand new skin
Secret phoenix feathers,
We can fly from our sins
Like broken pebbles.
Open air, musty strings,
Count our heartbeats
To new beginnings.

Count our heartbeats
To new beginnings.

Listen to your heartbeat,

Count all those new beginnings.

......

Like I said, this is quite different style to my usual stuff, I tried to make it more...song-like, if that makes sense? I'd love to know your thoughts, please rate and review? Thank you so much for reading!

Lucy xoxo
