I'm sorry :/ but I came up with this after reading Rot &Ruin/Dust &Decay by Jonathan Maberry;
The main gist of it is;
Post-zombie-outbreak.
It focuses around Benny and his older brother Tom who live in this safe town. Closed off from the "rot and ruin" where zombies run free.
At 15 you either get a job before school starts or they cut down your rations (stuff to survive) down to half;
Unable to find a job Benny says fuck it; and goes into work with Tom (who he believes is a coward; and bounty hunter)...it's really about the shit that happens in the rot and ruin, and drama near the end (close as I can get without giving it away)

PEOPLE ARE:
Tom- Around the town (the main safe place since the zombie shit went down) he's known as the "big badass bounty hunter"; he isn't a douche or anything..doesn't believe in killing zombies for nothing--Can be a chick
-Benny(i'm gunna describe it cause I will probably miss someone if I don't) Younger bro; BIG MAIN CHARACTER..which isn't up for grabs (i'm sorry...has to act a certain way and shit :( please don't hate me)
Nix- Best friend to Benny; quiet but smart. She's the one who keeps a journal about stuff they learn about zombie's and such (Could be a dude)
-/DAMMITIFORGOTHISNAME/ but town artist; he is loved around the town; draws/captions what the townspeople call "Zombie cards"(like baseball cards but featuring zombies/bounty hunters)
Charlie/The Hammer- The town's badasses...they are cruel, and fucked in the head...their the owners of "gameland"(a camp where they offer rations to those who are willing to jump in a pit and defend themselves against any number of zombies with a broken broom handle)..They'll play a big part
