"Dammit Lila. Couldn't it wait till morning. But no Lila couldn't wait it would be too much to call later." Steven yelled at Lila. Lila stared at the ground and then turned to look at Billie with pleading eyes. "It really is important Steven and if you don't believe me just look at your morning paper. It's on all the front page. it's about Jess." Lila pleaded. Steven and Billie exchanged glances. "Lila hon what happened. Please tell me or else I'll um.... do something i'll really regret later." Billie said with a grin. "All I can tell you is that four people entered Fowler Memorial and three came out alive. the person who died has a twin sister named Liz." Lila said blinking back tears. She really wanted to go back to Sweet Valley a week ago when everything was normal.

"Steve honey I'm just gonna ask you to slow down the freakin car again. We're gonna get pulled over by the coppers. Slow down the car now!" Billie yelled at Steven. Steven pressed his foot down on the gas and sped forward on the freeway just missing the Sweet Valley exit. "See now look what you did. Ya missed the bloody exit. The next one's Bay View and that's miles away. I feel like I'm gonna throw up now. Wait till we get to Sweet Valley Steve cause until then I'm not talkin to you." Billie said as she turned to look out the window moodily. Steven slung an arm around Billie's shoulders. "I'm sorry babe. I turned around at Bay View and now we're on southbound. Now I'm going down the Sweet Valley exit and here we are in Sweet Valley. Will ya talk to me now please." Steven whispered in Billie's ear. Billie groaned and buried her face into Steven's chest and began running her hands through his thick brown hair "You know I can't resist you when you're sad. Or any other time. Why d'ya think i'm pregnant with your baby. It's cause I can't resist ya at all. You are like the bestest thing that ever happened to me. I wish it was just you and me. Cause if it was up to me a hell lot more would be happening right now." Billie purred quietly. Steven slowed the car down and parked on the street "Billie we're here at the house can I carry you in? Cause you love me as much as I love you so please." Steven asked tentatively staring at Billie hopefully. Billie jumped into his arms and smiled contentedly as Steven tightened his arms around her and went into the house.
"Billie I gotta stop carrying ya. We're in my family's house and they might get worried about ya know me and you. They might not approve of us living together. Some of my aunts think boyfriends and girlfriends living together isn't PC." Steven explained. Billie's blue eyes sparkled mischievously and she laid her head on Steven's shoulder. "How about fiancé and fiancee living together. Come on I want to be engaged to ya. Why else would I keep your baby honey. I love ya so so much. Besides everyone says I'm shit without ya. So marry me puh-lease." Billie whispered quietly in Steven's ear. Steven stared intently at Billie's eyes then bent his head to her ear. "I love ya. So if you're my fiancee than I need to propose properly and I need a ring." He whispered quietly. "So we're engaged and you'll carry me in the house please baby." Billie whispered. Steven nodded and tightened his grip on her. Billie let out a squeal of contentment and buried her face into Steve's neck. "God you smell wicked nice Baby. I love you so so much." she murmured. He squeezed her tighter and swung her around. He put her down momentarily and she stared at him with tears in her eyes. "I'm still gonna carry you Sweetie. Please don't cry." Steve said. He gently picked Billie up and carried her over the threshold and into the kitchen where both his parents sat at the table.
