Sorry it's been taking me so long to update. I was so busy with finals and stuff, and I've been busy with work and christmas. I had a little free time, so I thought I'd squeeze a chapter in. I wanted to thank everyone for the reviews on the last chapter! I love getting them, good or bad.
I realized I made a mistake last time because I mentioned Frank had his lip pierced. He doesn't yet, just his nostril.
Anyway, I don't own MCR or their music.
Frank's POV
I stuffed my hands in my sweatshirt pockets and looked out of the window. The bus ride to the piercing and tattoo shop was a short one, but it seemed like forever. I chewed on the inside of my cheek idly, thinking of the girl I met the previous Saturday. Coty. She was so...cool. She seemed miles out of my league. I leaned against the cool glass, thinking of how she snapped and accused me of trying to get in her pants. Sigh. I didn't think I came off like that at all.
I was never that guy. I'd only had two girlfriends, both ending pretty badly. One was in high school, and she left me for someone else. The other was about 8 months ago, ending in a huge fight. I fought with her all of the time. She really felt like she could mold me into the guy she wanted me to be, poking at all of my interests, quirks, and ticks. We ended it in a fight, for the better. She didn't want me to play guitar in a band, and I drew the line right then and there. I want to be with someone who has common interests, and likes me for who I am. I want a best friend. You know, a best friend that I can also be attracted to. I never slept around. I never tried to take girls home.
Coty didn't know any of this, though. I sensed she'd been through a lot of shit with assholes. Maybe, given the chance, I could prove I wasn't an asshole.
I hopped off the bus, rummaging around my wallet for some cash. On a whim, I decided I wanted my lip pierced. After playing my first show, I was inspired to do something cool. I opened the door of the shop, adorned with a sign that read "Needlepunk: Tattoo and Body Piercing". I chuckled at the name. The receptionist was a tall women with bright red hair and face tattoos. She smiled warmly at me, asking if I had an appointment. I nodded, smiling.
"I made one for two o-cock, to get my lip pierced. They didn't give me the piercer's name, but I brought thirty dollars!" I said proudly, holding up some cash.
The lady flipped through the appointment book, running a long nail down the list. "Looks like you'll be with Coty," She said, ringing me up on the register.
My stomach did a flip. Had she just said 'Coty?'? She must have said Cody, meaning it would be a dude. My ears were playing with me, obviously.
"Come sit back here, sweetie. What's your name?" She lead me to a chair in the back.
"Frank," I said, glancing around at the tattoo flash art on the wall. She nodded, scribbling something down in her notebook.
"Well Frank, fill out these forms for me really fast, alright sweetie?" She hopped away, her bright red curls bouncing around like fire.
I filled out the form, returning it to her. She nodded back to the chair. "She will be out in a moment, dear!"
she. I swallowed hard. A few minutes later, the door beside me opened to reveal none other than my Coty. She was wearing a tight black button up, the sleeves rolled to her elbows. She wore dark grey skinny jeans, with knee high boots adorned with buckles. Her hair was pulled up in a messy bun, her eyes rimmed with black, and her lips a dark red. She gave me an awkward sideways smile, her piercings making her cheeks have cute dimples. I couldn't help but grin at her.
"Hey!" I said, too enthusiastically, "I had no idea you were a body piercer!"
She chuckled slightly, "Yep, the one and only here. The other guy got fired for trying to re-use a needle," She opened the door for me, leading me into the small room. Only a chair, a sink, and a table sat there. A mirror was on the wall as well, the rest of the wall space adorned with more Tattoo Flash artwork.
She sat me in the chair, washed her hands, and put on some gloves. She dabbed my lip with something weird, and then made a small dot with a marker. She then washed her hands again, put on new gloves, and pulled a needle out of a fresh package. She grabbed the clamp, clamping my lip and pulling it out. It was that moment that I became hyper-aware of how close her face was to mine.
Her eyes were focused, her eyebrows furrowed in concentration. She took the hollow needle, preparing to pierce my lip. "Stay really, REALLY still" She ordered. I nodded. My face burned, and my heart started beating extremely fast. She was so close...close enough to kiss her.
I was so distracted that I didn't even notice the needle piercing my skin until after it was all the way through.
"UCK!" I exclaimed, unable to make the "ff" sound as my lip was still clamped. She let out a small giggle, taking the clamp carefully off. The needle hung in my lip awkwardly. She washed her hands and changed her gloves, yet again, and pulled out a package with a little silver ring.
"There will be some swelling, so I'm going to put a little bigger ring in than you'll probably want. Once it's healed, I'll give you a smaller one to change in to," She told me, holding up the silver hoop, "It's surgical steal, so you won't have to worry about any allergic reactions."
I watched her in amazement as she slid the needle out and the hoop into my lip in one smooth motion. It stung a little, but I was too busy looking at her. Why was she so beautiful?
She gave me aftercare instructions, cleaning stuff, and another package with a smaller ring. I was grinning the whole time, my lip giving me a little throbbing sensation the whole time.
When I was all set, I made my way to the door. Before I opened it, I turned and called out to her, "Don't forget to come see my band Saturday!" I yelled, grinning. She gave me the thumbs up sign and disappeared into the back again.
Fuck.
She was so fucking awesome.
I touched my new piercing, wincing a little since it stung. This girl was just going to continue to amaze me.
I rambled a lot, but I think it's okay. I stuck with Frankie's pov this time. Let me know what you think! c:
