My blue eyes glitter with warmth and happiness,
I laugh and smile, this is the masked life I have been living
I fake happiness and joy

They say that if you wear a mask long enough it becomes you
I am waiting for this mask of happiness to become me
Truly I want to be happy
But all I can think about is what I have lost

I am scared to let you get close
Every time I have, I have lost you
In some way or form
So

Your positive that I don't know what its like to lose someone close
Little do you know that I have lost almost everyone who has ever meant anything to me
So I take refuge in my mask, not letting you close.

They say that if you wear a mask long enough it becomes you
I am waiting for this mask of happiness to become me
Truly I want to be happy
But all I can think about is what I have lost

So maybe when I have become my mask
I'll let you into my life, as more than my friend
But for now can you help me
Help me become my mask
And when that happens I'll tell you of what I have lost
