It was Christmas Eve, 1992, my brother and I were getting ready for Christmas Day. We were so exited. Opening presents. Christmas dinner. Spending time with mum and dad whilst they weren't at work. I was so exited, I might of wet myself. We were all in the living room, in front of the fire, getting all nice and warm. Me and Tim (my brother) were drinking alot, and i mean, alot, of juice. and mum was making teas and coffee, wasting all the milk.
"I'm going home now. Have a wonderful Christmas everyone," Send our maid, Leaiea, "see you in the new year!"
"Bye." I said, not really being bothered that she was leaving my presence.
"Later." Yelled Tim.
Mum got up and said her goodbyes. "Bye, have a wonderful Christmas, oh hold on," she went into the cupboard under the stair and gave Leaiea a bag containing presents, "these are for you and the kids, as a thank you."
"Thank you so much." She replied.
"Ah, let me drop you home, got to go to the shops to get some more milk and juice anyway." Dad said to her. He grabbed his keys and opened the door. Leaiea exited it.
"Dad, can i have a twix please, if, if you remember." I asked him.
"Course ya' can," he replied, ruffling my hair, "be back in a minute." He left our presence. Little did we ever know, that would be the last time he ever left us.
