Mikey’s POV
“Their mother is Amy,” she said.
I froze.
Amy?
“We could give them back to you, but it’s not suitable that you’re a single mother,” she said.
“She’s not,” I said quickly.
“Excuse me,” she said.
“Cause I’m…moving in with her,” I said.
Everyone looked at me and I nudged Amy.
“Yeah he is,” she said.
“mmmmmm and were you going to become a legal guardian of the girls?” the social worker asked.
“What marriage?” Amy exclaimed her eyes widening.
Please say yes.
“Marriage is not necessary, I was simply asking if you were going to assist Amy in looking after the girls,” she said.
“Oh, yes of course,” I said.
“Okay then, that might get you the girls back, I can’t promise anything though,” she said standing up.
“I’ll see myself out,” she said.
She walked out and all eyes turned to Amy.
“They’re your daughters?” Frank asked.
Amy nodded slowly.
“Care to explain?” he asked.
She took a deep breath.
“When I was fifteen I was walking home and someone grabbed me and…he raped me, I became pregnant with Mia and my parents disowned me, he got arrested and he broke out two years later and raped me again and I had Hozzie…” she mumbled.
I pulled her close to my side and kissed her forehead.
“I’m so sorry,” Frank said.
“It’s okay,” she said.
There was another bang on the door.
“Who’s this? Animal Rescue?” Penina said getting the door.
She came back with Gerard.
He looked at Amy and me in a surprised way.
“Hey Gee, are you okay?” Amy asked.
“No not really,” he said sitting down.
“What’s wrong?” I asked.
“Let’s say that the review attracted a lot of attention,” he mumbled.
“That’s good isn’t it?” Penina asked.
“No, the phones been ringing all morning and it’s not good news guys,” he said.
“What is it?” Frank asked.
“They’re shutting us down,” Gerard said.
Sorry for the shortness, I don’t think I can update in a while, I have exams for the next few weeks, I’ll still be on here but I don’t think I’ll be able to write, I’ll try to at the weekend, but I’m not promising anything
