1Ambiance
I'll tell you all a story
so curious of kind
a frightening sort of glory
and a journey of the mind

It started on the last day
of what we called the world
when all over the planet
a frightful roar was heard

Homes were turned into dust
towns into smithereens
announcements that we'd lost
flashed across the screens

But while others joined the end
I was dragged out into space
and told by a future friend
"Forget the human race"

I asked her now where's my light
the earth has been unplugged
say where will I sleep at night
at that she merely shrugged

"That's not for me to tell you"
she said and then she smiled
"Tough I've no home to go to
I still sleep quite alright"

"Come with me you'll be surprised"
she said with morbid mirth
"There's a bunch of worlds besides
that thing you called the earth"

I did not believe her tales
I laughed but not for long
just until she shred the veil
and harshly proved me wrong

We went to worlds that welcomed
us unto them as guests
and places not accustomed
to people like ourselves

I did things that I regret
but some things I do not
that's what scars the worst I fret
of all the wounds I got

I figured from the times when
I was sentenced dead
that the trick to scaring men
is a price upon their head

That brings me back to this day
that seems to be my last
my head has finally paid
with a single bullet blast

Though my head was quite the sum
nobody's getting grand
cause it's not about the gun
it's all about the hand
