Once upon a time, innocence was reflected into that mirror,
Now, the only visions are of cruel hatred and despair,
No one notices the mask that’s worn, no one asks at all,
But the pain goes on and on and on, it’s always right there.
The razorblades take it away, but still it crawls back,
The promises are broken again as the memories fill hurt minds,
Put down the bottle, throw away the pills, you don’t need them,
That can’t be done, strength is gone, and you keep on drawing lines.
Mother ignores you, father doesn’t care,
You fight with siblings, you fight with friends,
You’re stuck, losing a battle with yourself,
And wondering when the torture ends.
Sorry, please, accept these apologies,
They’re gone now, it’s okay,
You’ve had to use all your strength,
Just to see another day.
