The spark was in our souls.
I gave it all my internal oxygen.
The spark flared to life with amazing brilliance.
And there we held it like it was sacred.
Both of us held steady for fear it would smother.
Until one day an external force poured down it's poisonous water.
Water so hot it burned me cold.
After this I looked inward to find you.
But I found nothingness.
Empty and grief stricken I carry on.
But when I hold you I feel snippets of things.
Tiny flames flare to life.
But the flames are quickly snuffed out by past memories.
