A mirror reflects the truth,
Of a past so full of hate,
It's hidden well, beneath false smiles,
So no one ever sees it.

Pain leaks from the dreadful past,
The past that just won't leave,
Pulling wires out of broken minds,
To sever the links between things.

Not wanting to remember,
Forcing out lies,
Faking this innocence,
Pretending to be brave.

Pull off my mask,
Tear it from my face,
Scratch it, rip it,
I need it to go away.
