The tv static fills the air,
Moonlight pouring in from the blinds.
My eyes go dark, but I can still see the light.

This is a different kind of fire.
Not one that lights up the room,
But keeps it dark.
Like a nightmare,
Created from your worst fears.
The fire begins to kill you and starts in you head.
Those flames are the torture,
You brought upon yourself.
How you crumple your every being day by day,
And no one seems to care.
The words hurt,
The fire is burning you, becoming that nightmare.
Where all you fears meet up,
And destroy you from the inside.
Burning your flesh,
And killing you.

The fire is the static,
Its the only light you see when you close you eyes.
Put out the fire,
It's not time for you to retire.
