Alice paints flowers
To create something new
Away with the old
And in with the new
But what if those flowers
Have shriveled and died
What would she paint
To keep them alive
But I never wanted
To bring in the new
I'd rather go on
Painting over the truth
So now I paint flowers
To keep you alive
And though you will fade
Those paintings won't die.
