This city wears me out
This city wears me down
The city that never sleeps
And I'm begging for rest

Burning brightly
I'm staring at lights,
Not stars
And I'm pleading for it
To set me free
And let me rest

The rattles of the trains,
The bright lights that follow it
I can't take anymore
I CAN'T TAKE ANYMORE

I NEED TO BE THERE
WHY AM I HERE?

I need my rest
But I can't get it
So,
I stay up
Staring at the lights,
Not stars

I may never sleep tonight
As long as the city's lights are burning bright
And my thoughts of leaving,
All thoughts of escape
Fade away

No,
I can't sleep
I may never sleep
As long as I'm in this
Fucked up,
Beautiful
City

I may never sleep tonight
Or tomorrow night
But the thoughts of leaving
Just fade away

Maybe I'll escape
And shine bright
As another light
That a girl,
Or boy,
Stares at
On a restless night

Maybe I'll stay
And listen to the rattling of the trains,
And stare at the lights,
Never stars

But one day,
I swear it,
I'll be able to rest

But,
Until then,
I'll stare at the lights,
Think about the stars,
Ache to be one,
On another restless night

This city is poison.
