3Moving
Such a pretty girl with bright
Eyes and long hair
That shines like
The sun on a
Hot day.

She seems so alive to you.
Her eyes always alight
A smile so wide
And her laugh
Contagious.

But this girl hides so many
Dark things, many
Secrets on her
Skin, in her
Brain, so
Doctors
Said
She
Was

Insane or so it seemed to her brain.
Depressed was what they said
But it felt just the same
As the word insane.
She’s tearing
Herself
Apart
And
No
One
Cares
About
How she
Fakes every
Single smile and
Can’t remember what
The truth really is because
She has to keep up this front to
Pretend and to hide, keep it from her
Friends, enemies, the world as she knows it
Because she’s terrified of herself and her arms and her scars and her thoughts.
Her friends would be disgusted; they’d walk away and the enemies would hurt her too.
She can’t take this anymore because it hurts on the inside, deep inside her beating heart.

And just like that

That forced laugh
That fake wide smile
Those badly scarred arms

Are

Gone.
