Patrick's POV
I dry myself off, and find some comfortable clothes to wear. If we're just going to hang around the house today some loose jeans and a hoodie is perfect. I stick my feet in a pair of sneakers.
I still laugh a little to myself. I love to tease her, she looks adorable when she tries to look pissed. Maybe I went a little overboard with the condescending though, better apologize later. But I really think she knows I'm far from a chauvinist pig. And I actually hear her hum "Golden" in the bathroom, which is adorable, so maybe she's not all that angry.
I walk downstairs and I start to make breakfast: coffee, cereal, orange juice, bread, eggs - the works. I want to surprise her. I replay last night in my mind as I prepare the food.
Of course the sex was unbelievingly amazing, but the best part was that I finally had had the guts to tell her I'm in love with her. I've had those feelings for sometime now, but I guess it took for me to think I'd lose her, to man up and actually tell her that I've fallen for her. She's got more balls than me, writing her feelings in that e-mail.
She's incredible, and I'm so lucky she feels the same for me. I mean, who the fuck am I? She could easily do much better than me. For some strange reason, she's in love with me too, and that makes me feel awesome.
It felt so good waking up this morning, her arm still over my chest. She's beautiful in sleep. I had watched her and listened to her breathing for a while, experiencing that emotion of complete and utter happiness one feels when one's newly in love. I watched her for as long as I could, before my bladder was about to burst. How the hell I got out of the bed without waking her I'll never know, but once done in the bathroom there was no use getting back in bed.
I was feeling too giddy to sleep anyway. I just got dressed in last nights discarded clothes off of the floor, thinking I was going to shower later anyway. I'd went downstairs, let out a whining Penny in the backyard, and checked my date book to make absolutely sure I had nothing booked for today. Then I sat down at my piano. I wanted to play something, but what? Hmm, hadn't played Fall Out Boy in ages. She'd like that I thought, because the piano would most certainly wake her up. And as soon as I thought Fall Out Boy, "Golden" just ran through my fingers.
I was right in her loving it, well at least if the shower jerk off was a thanks of sorts. I had never had a girl who was so forward before. I love it! And I'm never going to take her for granted. I'm going to treat her like a friggin' princess. I am not going to fuck this up! Damn! What if she is mad about before? I must apologize!
She's agreed to come with me to LA too. That'll be fun. I got some work to do of course, but we'll have plenty of time to enjoy ourselves. Maybe I'll introduce her to some friends, Pete for instance, if she's up for it. Maybe it's too soon…
I just feel so goddamned strongly for this girl. It's weird and scary and exuberant at the same time. The word soulmate keeps popping into my head, and I'm not even sure I believe in soulmates. At least I didn't use to… And it's all going exceptionally fast, but it feels right, so hopefully that won't be negative factor…
God Patrick! What's up with the teenage feelings? I guess it's been years since I've been newly in love… I forgot you behave like a silly teenager. Like, I miss her already, I mean what the fuck is up with that? It hasn't even been 20 minutes since I saw her… Dammit! Get a grip dude!
The same second I decide to actively think about something else than her, I sense a familiar smell. I turn around, and there she is, just a few feet away from me. Her hair's still a bit wet. She wears one of my old Clandestine hoodies, that goes way down her thighs, and nothing more. She looks absolutely adorable.
She holds out the hem of the hoodie and says "I hope you don't mind? Didn't really feel like getting into the same clothes as yesterday…" she smiles apologetically.
I walk up to her, and wrap my arms around her waist
"Of course not! You look adorable!" I inhale the scent of her hair. "And you smell great! My shampoo does you much better justice than me."
She smiles a bit shyly.
"Yeah, um… sorry…"
"Nah, what were you supposed to do? You don't have any stuff here." I say as I run my fingers through her hair. "We can swing by the hotel later if you'd like…"
"Thanks…" she starts to look around and sees all the breakfast stuff on the table. "This looks great Trick! I'm starving."
"Well, please have a seat," I gesture towards the table, "I'll get the coffee." As I pour the coffee I say, "I'm sorry about earlier, I didn't mean to be condescending or a chauvinist. I took my joke too far," I smile sheepishly.
She just laughs.
"It's cool, Patrick! I know you were kidding. You're way too much of a gentleman to ever be condescending in any way other than as a joke."
I give an audible sigh.
"Well, thanks… I wasn't sure you got it…"
"I know you better than you think…" she smirks.
I chuckle.
"Apparently."
After our breakfast we go by her hotel so she can pack whatever she'll need in LA for three days. In the middle of her packing, as she's bent over her suitcase, she suddenly jerks up and walks swiftly into the bathroom. Five seconds later, I can hear that she brushes her teeth. I chuckle to myself. Cleanliness is Godliness…
Two minutes later she strides decisively towards me where I sit in one of the armchairs as I check Twitter on my BlackBerry. She takes the phone from me, puts it on the table and gets down on her knees between my thighs. She yanks my head closer by my neck and gives me the most awesome minty tasting kiss.
We just keep kissing, I put my arms around her waist, and pull her into me. I immediately feel a throbbing in my crotch. Goddamn! I wonder if I'm ever going to be able to kiss her without getting a hard on… She sits on my lap and we just make out for quite some time, hands in each others hair. It's awesome, in a teenage kind of way I haven't behaved in a long time.
Beep, beep! We both jump a bit, because we've been totally involved in the kissing. I got a text.
"Hmm…" I clear my throat, "excuse me…" and I reach to pick up the phone.
She just smiles calmly.
"Of course," and gets off my knee.
The text is from Pete:
"can't wait to see you tomorrow man i miss you what time do you come in"
I smile at his usual way of writing, without proper punctuation or capital letters. I miss that dude like crazy! I look up at my girl who stands by the mirror and checks her face with a wrinkled forehead.
"Hey dude, I got some serious stubble rash going on here…" she says while she's turning her face different ways. She turns back to me with a small smile.
"Well, I guess that's the price you pay for that heavy make out session just now." I smack my lips together, "my lips are all swollen and chapped…" I grin.
"Yeah, forgot about that. Been a while since I just made out with someone for that long… Good news?" she nods towards my phone. "You looked happy reading it."
"Oh, it was Pete. He's wondering when I'll, or rather we'll, arrive. Don't know if he's planing to pick us up at the airport…"
"Hmm…" she says, "have you actually told him that you've got a new girlfriend, and that you're planing to take me with you?" she grins, and raises her eyebrows.
"Well, no… Actually, I haven't," I smile sheepishly, "sorta forgot about that. Ah hell, it'll be a surprise!"
She looks a bit skeptical.
"And does Pete by any chance like surprises?"
"As a matter of fact, he does," I grin.
"Okay then, you know him best…" she says with defeat. "Better get on with the packing," and she drops her shoulders and looks a little perturbed.
She turns back to the suitcase. Aww, she's nervous… I walk up to her and put my arms around her from behind.
"If it'll make you feel better I will of course tell him about you…" I tell her silently.
She turns around and puts her arms around my neck:
"Thank you Patrick! I think it will make me feel better… I mean, there's surprises and then there's surprises…" she says.
"You might be right, maybe you don't just spring a new girlfriend on someone you've known for as long as Pete and I have. Especially since it's been a while since I saw him, and I haven't had a new girlfriend in years…" I agree.
"You did tell him it's over with your ex though?" she looks stern. Cute!
I laugh.
"Of course I did! Pete's my best friend! I called him before I broke up with her. I needed someone to talk to, you know. I even told him about you…" I feel my face blush.
"You did?" she looks super surprised.
"Yes. I told him that I had cheated, and that the girl I'd been with was fantastic in every way…" I grin.
"Oh, really?" she looks smug, "fantastic, huh?"
I grab her around the waist, and spin her around:
"Yes, fantastic! Like I haven't made that perfectly clear by now…?"
She just laughs out loud and starts to kiss me.
