A smile on her lips,
Tears in her eyes,
Skin full of rips,
It’s herself she must despise.
She tells you she’s okay,
But cries when she’s at home,
Fights to make it through each day,
Terrified to be alone.
Fear keeps her awake,
Nightmares wake her up,
But her own life, she won’t take,
And that just leaves her stuck.
On her lips is a smile,
She knows just what to say,
To keep these lies up for a while,
You won’t see through it today.
Tears in her eyes,
Skin full of rips,
It’s herself she must despise.
She tells you she’s okay,
But cries when she’s at home,
Fights to make it through each day,
Terrified to be alone.
Fear keeps her awake,
Nightmares wake her up,
But her own life, she won’t take,
And that just leaves her stuck.
On her lips is a smile,
She knows just what to say,
To keep these lies up for a while,
You won’t see through it today.
