Pete and I dropped my bags in his hotel room before heading to the venue. Some guy was driving us. During the car ride there, Pete was playing with his phone the whole time, making me feel unwelcome. I pulled out my phone and texted Joe.

Kiley: hey, almost to the venue. i really want to talk to you

Joe: everything ok

Kiley: pete is just acting weird

"Who are you talking to?" Pete asked me. Pete never asked me these questions until lately. Seemed like him asking for time apart has made him more leery of my actions.

"Joe. Just letting him know we're almost there," I smiled at Pete and he just nodded and went back to his phone. I glanced down on the screen and he was looking at his Twitter feed. I frowned and leaned my head against the window of the backseat.

We got to the venue and Pete hopped out of the car, heading in without waiting for me. I sighed and followed behind him and into the dressing room.

"Kiley!" Joe said and stood up to hug me. I hugged him tightly, needing the comfort of my brother. Pete's sweet words yesterday and actions at the airport were directly conflicting with his behavior since, which was confusing me. I needed my brother to help give me insight.

"Hey Kiley," Patrick said and I hugged him too. I should definitely talk to Patrick because he knows Pete the best out of the 4 of us here.

"Can I talk to you later?" I whispered to Patrick and he nodded. I hugged Andy when he walked in and I sat on the couch. Pete was still buried in his phone. I couldn't help but feel like Pete was talking to someone. When I say someone, I mean a female someone. "Hey Joe, will you help me find some food?" I asked Joe, making an excuse to get out of the room and talk to him.

"Yeah, I'll show you where," Joe said and stood up. Pete stood up too.

"I got it," Pete said.

"You sure? You seem busy," I said in the sweetest tone I could muster so that he wouldn't take the statement the wrong way.

"Yeah, I'm not doing anything productive on here," Pete replied and put his phone in his pocket and started heading to the door. I followed him into the hallway, walking next to him but not touching. Brendon's wife was walking down the hall with Brendon and another chick that I did not know.

"Kiley! You made it!" Brendon said and stopped to hug me.

"Hey," I said back and pulled away.

"I thought you couldn't make it on tour?" Sarah asked and hugged me.

"Well... I um, I got fired." I stated and their smiles fell.

"Seriously? I'm so sorry! You loved that job!" Sarah said and I just nodded. I glanced up and saw Pete smile at the unknown woman and I felt sick.

"Oh, Kiley, this is my friend Meagan." Sarah introduced me to my new enemy.

"Hey," I said with a little wave.

"Nice to finally meet you," she said sweetly and I wanted to kill her. It was obvious that she and Pete were friendly with each other.

"I'm going to show Kiley where the food is. We'll see you at sound check," Pete said and started walking away. I followed behind him and into a room towards the end of the hall. Pete's phone beeped and he looked at the screen.

"Thanks for showing me the food," I said, trying to get him to focus back on me.

"Sure," he said indifferently and began typing on his phone. "I'm gonna head back to the dressing room, you good?" He looked up at me. I just nodded and he left.

When I got back to the dressing room a few minutes later, Pete was sitting on the couch playing video games with Meagan and Brendon. A few people were joined around watching. I felt really really out of place and unwanted. Joe looked up and smiled at me. I waved him to come with me. He got up and followed me out into the hall.

"Hey, are you okay?" Joe asked me as tears welled up in my eyes.

"Who is that chick? Is Pete involved with her?" I asked quietly, trying to stay calm.

"No no. I'd kill him if he cheated on you." Joe assured me.

"They just seem so friendly."

"She's been on tour for about 2 weeks with us. I think she's got a thing for Pete. But you know how Pete is, he's friendly." Joe stated.

"He ditched me in the food room to come back and hang out with her, obviously. Why am I even here?" I let out a shaky breath and Joe hugged me.

"Because Pete wants his wife here."

"He's treating me like a burden, not a wife." I buried my face in Joe's chest, hugging him tightly and he just rubbed my back, unsure of what to do.

"I'm sure he's just confused on what to do. I mean, you guys are separated right now."

"Maybe," I said and pulled away from the hug. I wanted to get back in that room. I had to see how Pete interacted with Meagan. Jealousy was rearing its ugly head right now and it made me sick to think that she was spending time with my husband and I wasn't. I took a deep breath and led the way back into the dressing room. Meagan playfully shoved Pete's arm and he was laughing. I wanted nothing more than to jump across this room and tear her apart.

I walked over and sat on Pete's other side and he smiled at me.

"Get enough to eat?" He asked and I nodded. In all honesty, I ate nothing because I was so emotionally distraught.

Meagan was around most of the night, but she seemed to keep a little more distance, which was good for her health. After the show, which was awesome, Pete and I went back to our hotel room.

"I'm going to shower," he said and walked into the bathroom. I heard him start the water and I glanced down at his phone on the bed. I picked it up and typed in the password. Still the same one, which made me feel better for some reason. I opened his text message logs and saw Meagan's name at the top of the list and I wanted to puke. I was so scared to open it, but I did.

I scanned through the messages quickly and found nothing that didn't seem platonic from Pete's side of the conversation, but her side definitely implied she was interested in him. I decided to look through his other apps, searching for signs of cheating. Nothing on Twitter, Snapchat, or anything in his pictures. I let out a sigh of relief, but still felt sick to my stomach that he was in fact, texting another woman. I put his phone back where it was on the bed and decided to change for bed. I had packed some sexier pajamas in hopes of enticing Pete into some intimacy. I even packed a sexy, see through lace nightie. I glanced up at the bathroom, biting my lip in contemplation. The shower was still on, so I had a minute or two to get changed.

I stripped quickly and put on the lacy nightie and sat at the foot of the bed, waiting. I heard the shower turn off and I felt anxious. If Pete rejected me, I don't know how I'd handle it. The bathroom door opened a minute later and Pete walked out in some basketball shorts. He was rubbing his head with a towel and a few water droplets were scattered across his chest.

"Do you want to watch a movie..." his voice trailed off when he looked up at me. A smile slowly crept up on his lips and he scanned my body with his eyes. "What's this?"

What's this? That is his response? Wow, I feel incredibly stupid now.

"I don't know. I thought... maybe... never mind," I stammered and walked over to my bag to grab some different pajamas. Pete walked up behind me and turned me around gently.

"Hey," he said and I couldn't look at him. "Kiley, look at me." I looked up at him. "What's wrong?"

"Doesn't matter."

"Yes it does. You're my wife, I want to know why you're upset."

"Well you haven't been treating me like your wife today. I honestly don't know why I thought you'd want me," I say and I try to walk around him, but he stops me.

"Of course I want you. I just," he says and sighs before continuing. "Look, we're having marital issues, which are making me want to distance myself to keep from getting hurt, not because I don't want you." He tilts my chin up gently and gives me a soft, swift kiss. "I've missed you so much this past month." He kisses me again, cupping the back of my head at the base of my neck and pulling me closer. Our kissing quickly becomes heated and Pete lifted me up and laid me back on the bed, climbing on top. I pushed his shorts down as far as I could and Pete kicked them off the rest of the way before pulling my nightgown off. I spread my legs and Pete immediately pushed into me.

"Oh, Kiley," he moaned out softly and began rolling his hips slowly. Pete kissed me heatedly as he picked up speed and force. I wrapped my legs around Pete's waist, meeting him thrust for thrust. Pete held both of my hands above my head, interlocking our fingers and he rested his forehead against my shoulder. I felt the familiar tingling building up so quickly and I came, breathing out his name. Hearing me say his name sent Pete over the edge too and he came, thrusting deeper into me a few more times before slowing. Pete looked into my eyes and kissed me tenderly.

"I love you," I whispered and Pete kissed me softly.

"I love you, too," he said and the words were so comforting in that moment.
