I had said it a million times
But I can't remember her name
It was beautiful though
And the fact I can't remember it is a shame.
I looked her in the eyes
Saying a million times wouldn't do
But I can't remember
If they were brown or green or blue.
I loved her voice
And a million times, I scolded her when she said she hated it
But when I try to hear it now,
I can't hear it even the slightest bit.
I fell in love with her mouth
A million times I traced the curve of her lips
But when I try to remember how they felt pressed to mine
I can't recall the bumps and dips.
A million times my fingers were interlaced with hers
I was always playing with her hands; they were lovely
But the spaces between my fingers
Don't even remember what it's like to not be lonely.
Please God let me remember her
A million times to you I've prayed
You've never responded
But without her in my memory I'd rather be dead.
But I can't remember her name
It was beautiful though
And the fact I can't remember it is a shame.
I looked her in the eyes
Saying a million times wouldn't do
But I can't remember
If they were brown or green or blue.
I loved her voice
And a million times, I scolded her when she said she hated it
But when I try to hear it now,
I can't hear it even the slightest bit.
I fell in love with her mouth
A million times I traced the curve of her lips
But when I try to remember how they felt pressed to mine
I can't recall the bumps and dips.
A million times my fingers were interlaced with hers
I was always playing with her hands; they were lovely
But the spaces between my fingers
Don't even remember what it's like to not be lonely.
Please God let me remember her
A million times to you I've prayed
You've never responded
But without her in my memory I'd rather be dead.
